TEST your EAR here Thanks, I think you meant testing it here http://tonometric.com/adaptivepitch/ ... weird, your original link (http://www.tonometric.com/) has just a front page with links to other places and I don't see any link for the "Please try out all the musical tests:" as shown there down the page... or is it just here

Cool test! I didn't do as good as I thought I would though. On the Adaptive Pitch test I could differentiate two tones 2.4Hz appart (Average). On the Rhythmic one I got 84.0% (Outstanding Performance). Then, on the Tonedeaf I got a 77.8% (Average). Maybe I should've been a drummer . Some of those were hard but it was fun. Thanks! Take care!

That was interesting...I got the tones at .75 almost every time, 50/50 at .375 and even had a shot at .187 which I blew. Did good on the others as well.

Well, let's see, I took the adaptive pitch test twice and got a "0.75Hz" result the first time....and a "0.375Hz" result the 2nd time. So I guess I'm not in danger of loosing my job as a violinist, right?

Nah, violinists don't need pitch, just shaky hands. After all, aren't violins the horseshoes of musical instruments (as in "close only counts in horseshoes...")?

Try playing the Bach Sonatas & Partitas, then tell me that. Actually, I just realized that I didn't complete the test. That survey thing threw me off. I was just grabbing the numbers that showed up as I took the test. Anyway, my actual scores averaged between 1.2Hz and 1.5Hz. That's not too bad, I suppose...and I took the tests as fast as I could. Anyway, at least I know I can still tune my fiddle within 1Hz of 440Hz without needing a tuner.

That was fun. Scored "very good" on all three tests. Got most of the tones right at .75Hz.

Well, I didn't want to do it twice as I think it would be kinda cheating since now I know how to take the test but I will try this again later when I get home. This time it'll be in my setup as I did it on my dad's computer and his computer speakers (which at that frequency shouldn't make a big difference anyways). I don't wanna loose to a violinist .

Just took the Adaptive test again and did not beat the violinist , but did do better. I got down to 1.8Hz instead of my previous 2.4Hz which is still good for me . Take care all!

Cannot see the scores - I get to the demographics page right when I'm done - I see others have left comments on that but the comments page has been closed for comments - Argh, it's probably one of those IE7 quirks... Cool tests though.

Really fun tests. I got 1.0125 hz on the adaptive part, scored 96 on the rythm part and 80,6 on the tonedef part. I'm pretty happy about it since I have no trainig at all. More music and/or Cakewalk related test and quizzes please!

I keep getting tones .0375 apart and getting them right every time.... how long does this test go on like this? so I scored as good as it could be I suppose... It is not hard, but sometimes our ears get so accustomed to sound that we need something else to come in and break up the monotony...like in the studio when you put another mix on to break things up abit for fresh ears. thanks for the test

Once I got it down to 0.01875Hz so it does go lower than 0.0375 esmail. I do believe that was a fluke though... Was fine with the 0.75 but 0.325 I would often stuff it up... No idea how I made it down to 0.01875 at one stage... Guess I just kept guessing those ones right. But I SWEAR I could hear it! Honest!

I got down to 0.01875Hz as well and got some of them right, still my final score was only 1.0125 hz, I'm happy with it though and will just try again sometime when there's not a bunch of other things going on and sounding around me.
