TH2 not showing up in VST FX list X1
Whilst waiting for the arrival of X2 I jumped in and purchased the TH2 upgrade. Playing it in stand alone mode is great and I must say this has an amazing sound. I already own several amp sims, including POD Farm 2, Git'Rig 5, and more and this one has that extra something the others lack. However I have a small issue when it comes to using it as a plug in in x1d Producer. Alsthough the scan picks up the dll file, TH2 does not show in any of the FX lists. I have tried to reinstall TH2, I have directed the vst scan in X1 to the files, it sees it ok but still not showing...any one have a clue?

Are you using a custom preset list or the generic "Default All Plugs"? A custom list won't get updated unless you do it manually (and remember to save it afterwards)

I have a custom list, and the default. Not in either. Also If I go to the plug in manager, under VST FX list, all my vst plug ins show but not TH2. Also checked VST Synth and other options just incase it was assigned incorrectly as a synth. To add to this I had previously tried the demo version and this showed up straight away, it has only happened with the full version.

After you insert an empty audio file, go into the console view and in the FX box under the effects/audio section you should see TH2 .

Thanx Mikey I'll try, I was only usng the audio chn that opened with the default template and not adding a new one, think I had an issue like that a year or so back with another VST. Although I would have though it should still show in the list of vsts available in the manager

Well I tried and still not showing up, but the scan clearly shows the dll file being seen by X1, but it is not in the vst list

Go to Windows Explorer, look in your default VST folder and see if the plugin is there. If it is there run a plugin scan. If not you can uninstall and reinstall and select the cakewalk vst as the default vst folder. or you can copy the dll for th2 into the default cakewalk folder for vst. Chances are if it does not show up in the plug in manager then it is not in the default folder or you need to rescan the folder

Same problem here. The program doesn't ask where your VST folder is. NOTE: I've installed the demo version.

Just for laughs, try seeing if it's listed under a VST instrument instead of FX. I recently purchased an VST effect plugin, I spent an hour trying to find it, and when I clicked on the audio track to add the effect, I selected add VST instrument instead, and sure enough, there it was! It's worth a try.
Lee Shapirowww.soundclick.com/leeshapiro Welcome BandLab and thank you for giving Cakewalk and Sonar a new lease on life.

PilotGav Same problem here. The program doesn't ask where your VST folder is. NOTE: I've installed the demo version. I installed the demo version as well and I had the same problem. I had to navigate to the TH2 folder and copy the DLL to the default cakewalk vst folder the folder is C:/ProgramFiles/Cakewalk/Vstplugins If your using a 32 bit version in a 64 bit OS the default is C:/ProgramFilesx86/Cakewalk/Vstplugins If TH2 cannot be found in the folder listed above it will not show up in the audio plugin list. Go to your program folder look in overloud or TH2 folder for files ending in .dll copy and past into the above folder. Cake walk should then see it the next time Sonar is started. If not run a plugin scan. When you install the full version that is purchased from cakewalk it will ask you to list the default plug in folder. (the demo does not do this) hit the browse button and navigate to the default folder on install.

FWIW, I have the upgrade installed and it appears in my VST list. I say this not to brag but to confirm that a "paly it by the book" guy's install worked.

Outlandish Music Well I tried and still not showing up, but the scan clearly shows the dll file being seen by X1, but it is not in the vst list It should show up in a sub folder in the audio effects. Right click in an effect bin and move the mouse cursor to audio FX a sub menu opens with a list of effects. now move the mouse cursor to vstplugins another sub menu rolls out. TH2 should be on the list. If not hit the P key to bring up preferences. in the left column click on VST settings. In the right click on reset all VST plugins. then click on Scan VST folders. If the plugin is in your folder this should solve your problem. I am assuming you are not using any custom menus. If that is the case you need to fix the problem in the plug in manager under Utilities.

Same problem here. (Windows 7, 64bit) In Sonar X2 Studio, TH2 worked fine. Then I upgraded to X2 Producer. Now only TH2-Producer shows up, but not the full version TH2-64. (TH2 still works fine as a stand alone though.) It's in no sub menu, nor does a vst plugin reset do any good. I de-installed TH2, re-installed it. Didn't help. I copied the dll from the sub folder direktly into vstplugins. Didn't help. I deleted the remains from TH2-Sonar (Studio-Version). Didn't help. Also deleted the entry from TH2-Producer. Didn't help. I'm running out of ideas.

Murphys Law... As Mikey wrote, TH2 now shows up in the console view (insert FX). Or right click an audio file (insert FX). Strangely enough, so does TH2-Sonar from the former Studio-Version. And yes, TH2 does work. (I probably have overseen it, since TH2 obviously begins with on "o" - "overloud" being the the name of the sub folder in the default vstplugin folder. In the console menu it's written "TH2" though, but placed in the list where "overloud" would be.) But why does it still not show up in the plugin manager?
