THANKS TO ALL MY FRIENDS!!!!!

Well, this morning I feel like sitting at the computer.  Seems trivial, but not for me anymore.  THANKS TO ALL, who responded so kindly to Marks's post about my surgery.  I was really humbled to hear from so many.  NOW!!!!,   what the heck happened?

Well, the last year or longer I have felt less than energetic.  I was having pains in my neck and back when climbing my beloved mountains.  I thought it was back or neck probvlems and had to stop climbing.  It was a summer full of collabs and work with Dena and Will (Vested),Daryl Crowley,  Dave Logan and of course my long time partner Mark Cline (CLEAN).  These things usually pump me up but I got less and less energetic.  My time on the board diminished to almost nothing.

Finally,  my new doctor insisted on a stress test.  Well, I believe God blessed me with that new doctor.  Things snowballed from there and they found significant blockages in a couple arteries (one affecting the whjole right side of the heart as I understand).  90% was the figure they threw out there.  Souinded big to me!

So, that is the back story.  The update is that the surgery is done (double bypass) and I am doing well.  It's been 13 days and I walked a mile yesterday and have the desire and strength to get up here again, one of my favorite places.  Sorry for the long story.  Thanks again for all of the kind comments to Mark's post.  It'll be a few more weeks till I can play bass or guitar.  That danged thigh cut is right where the guitar sits!  That's where they take the replacement arteries from.  I don't know if I can sing yet, but I was mediocre to begin with and hope to be able to get back to that quickly!  :-)

I send sincere affecxtion to all of my friends here.  I am blessed in many ways.

Good to hear the good news Warren.

You should be good to go for at least 20 more years.

My Mom had triple bypass at 80 and she's now past 95.

I stayed with her a few days and spoke to the doctors and nurses. She got home and told the home health nurse, after a few days she was NOT going to take THAT medication, her herbs and tonics would work just fine. She literally threw the meds in the trash.

I asked the doctors before I left if we needed to have her on any sort of "special diet" and the doctor's response was..... She's 80, just had triple bypass...... no... let her eat whatever she wants. It takes time for this stuff to build up again and if she needs another bypass in 20 years, we can do it.

    Priceless!

Glad to hear you're back up and running Warren. Your comment about singing reminded me of something my Dad asked the Dr when my Grandad had a quad bypass many years ago. He asked ...... will he be able to play pool ok ? The doc said....yeah no problem at all. My Dad said.....that's good 'then cos he was useless at it before.....;)

Thanks Warren.  Avatar is the cover of my new soon to be released CD.  Shoulder is doing much better since the surgery.  Was finally able to pick up a guitar again after 2 months.  Hang in there.  Won't be long and you'll be playing again too.
