>>THE SONAR ADDITIONAL CONTENT SONG<<

Hi All!

Due to all the BS that has been going on with me in the last 2 years, I haven't really been active in my studio or here in the Forums at all.  It's good to be back and sliding faders, I tell you!!  Anyway... I see a BUNCH of unfamiliar faces and names, and seems like a few more oldies aren't present.   :-(

So... maybe some of the "new" names I see are actually new to SONAR, and maybe wondering what the "Additional Content" (loops) in SONAR are like.  I put this tune together when X2 came out, and hopefully it will answer that question for you (if you were wondering.)  And of course there's always the argument, um, I mean discussion, about whether to use loops to make music in the 1st place, but that's another story...LOL

Here's a link to the song...

No other instruments were used in this song, and no "one-shots" were used either...just 95 of the loops.  It's basically a club dance tune, so it may not be your cup of tea, but you will get the idea.

Enjoy!

Cheers!

Tony

While some bit don't seem to work to my ear, so many do, and I thought there were some great parts in there, that came in a really surprised me. It's also fairly bonkers. I like the idea of creating some restrictions around creative ideas, and you did a great job with yours.

Thanks Scott.  Yep, it's a bonkers piece alright... and was just really a quick showcase of some of the loops included with SONAR.  It was fun to assemble.  There were MANY tracks to mix and was a good exercise.

    Cheers!

That was pretty cool.   There certainly are a lot of layers happening...   Overall I think it works really well though, and does show what some of that delivered content actually (can) sounds like in context.    As Scott mentioned, restrictions can sometimes be a good thing, and now this makes me want to do something similar with SPlat...

This would make an awesome demo for "additional content".

Stevec-  I think it took me 90 tracks to mix this one!  LOL  But it was fun.  I truly just wanted to put something out there that demonstrated what the "Additional Content" was like, as I had wondered about it for a while myself at the time.
dub- LOLOL... I was hoping Cakewalk folks might hear it and think the same thing!    In all honesty, there are NO other instruments played and no processing other than what was in the ProChannel...(except the very slight Mastering polish of Ozone.)  So a real SONAR demo of epic proportions!  haha!

    Cheers!
