You should try to work something in there about the relationship between time and mass. i.e., time moves more slowly for us here on earth than it does for our GPS satelites in orbit? Because we're closer to the earth and the earth has mass. If they didn't adjust for it, GPS wouldn't work :-) The sun is so massive that a single photon may take as long as 40,000 of our years to travel from the core to the surface of the sun because of the sun's mass; however, once freed from the crushing gravity at the core of our sun, it makes the journey to the earth in a little over 8 minutes? "time" is a very interesting thing indeed...

And perhaps something about speed and time, and the suppossed constant of C? (186K miles per second) and the fact that as you get closer to that speed, you get more massive? So if you were actually moving at the speed of light, you would be infinately massive? Time speaks to the very nature of God I believe...

This one sounds better! I don't know why? I'd have to A/B them to know better, but I really like the song and the performances! I listened twice (cause I had time :-)

I have to agree wit Robby. I like this version better. I think the vox are dryer than the other I heard, is that right? Anyway, this just keeps improving. Really like this version.

OK - I'm officially blown away!...  I kind of had problems w/ the other mixes.  The rhythm of the piano and Franks tracks have slightly different grooves.  But Frank's got them working together in this mix.

I really didn't do much in this.... some drums and piano.   The rest is Frank.  I'm pretty humbled really.  Thanks Frank.

I haven't been on any boards much lately but I read thru the comments in the other threads.  I appreciate everyone's kind words and appreciate the feedback.

    Peace,

    Ian

I really like this. Good song that sounds well mixed, nice vocal harmonies as well. Only comment I'd make is that the lead guitar could be a little more upfront in the break.

Great job.  Really nice delivery.  I love the vocals and lead part.  I hear some Neil Young in the lead vocal.   Really good.

I'm not sure this to me sounds better but it sounds maybe a little more commercial, that's not a crit just my observation.  It's a good song and both have that great mix serperation.  As a life long fan of physics and having read dozens of books on the subject of time alone.... of course I love the theme!

This is better, more solid bottom; more mid range but it comes across a bit muddy. I would try moving the bass a bit off to the sides and see what you get.

    Love the song still...

I don't know but I got the left channel in hardware output (while the software output was balanced and the same) louder. ?? Not on other songs so far. I thought the voice could be a bit louder though. Otherwise sounded okay to me.

    Hi Frank/Ian,

I missed the previous mix(es) but, man, I just love this!  Great vocal/harmonies and overall playing!  The mix/production sounds perfect on my cheap speakers

    Wow, just outstanding.

Just when you thought you couldn't be surprised any more.......Frank does REM ! Or is that just me ? If I see you've painted a blue face mask on your avatar I'll know for sure ! Didn't hear any previous versions or Ian's original for comparision, but this works well and I always love a tune that throws expectation out the window. Listening on lappy it's not your usual pristine mix, li'l bit muddy by your standards,  but like I say lappy speakers so make of that what you will. Only mention it because I just listened to your other tracks and they don't have the mud.
