TOUCH support

This is really cool... my question is, does one need WIN 8 to use a multi touch control surface or can X2 support touch in WIN 7 as well?

This is going to be my next workflow change.  No more staring across to flat screens.  I would rather look down at my surface and use it like a traditional desk.

This stuff is exciting.

Nope.. doesn't work on Win 7 / Dell Multitouch.

It works for basic touch to mouse translation like moving windows / scroll / toggle options.. But it doesn't work on dragging the Console fader (it won't move at all).

That's really too bad as I don't like Windows 8. Unless there is some way to revert back to a "classic" look (such as win 7)...?

OK with Windows 8 you have a a lot of options. The classic desktop is still very much there from the start screen or you can down load Classic Shell and bypass the start screen. Windows 8 doesn't take away anything but adds a lot.

If you like Windows 7 there is no good reason you shouldn't like Windows 8.

One thing they took away in Win8 was Aero window frame transparencies (everything's a solid color now), which kind of annoyed me at first but I got used to it pretty quick.

SONAR uses the new Windows 8 style touch support via whats called an Interaction context. This allows multiple concurrent actions to be performed on the touch surface. This is not available on Win7 which is why it doesn't work. In Win7 you get more basic touch support.

Noel you do know that you need keep that crystal ball safe. It seems to be working for you very well indeed. I think a lot of other developers would love to get their hands on it.
