I was thinking of selling my mixer ro get another delta 1010 audio card, the problem is that my monitors are connected to the mixer to control my volume so my speakers wont burst when i play things. I want the tranzport, but will it act as an overall volume controller like BIg studios have?

I don't think that's what it's for. It just controls functions in Sonar. On the other side of Sonar at the driver and hardware level you still need some type of control.

Tranzport does however let you control the buses (A,B,C,D,E,etc.) from the Tranzport. So technically you can control the overall volume from the tranzport. I use mine all the time now. I'll route the metronome to B and when I'm tracking my tracks are on A, met on B, and my vocal is on input monitor in my soundcard (so no delay). That way I can control volumes from my booth. I've even assigned tranzport to save, turn on or off the metronome, you can assign every keys 2nd shift (holding stop down instead of shift) to any function in sonar via key bindings) I highly recommend the tranzport.

There are 3 options for monitor control under $1k that are fairly decent at passing the signal.

Mackie Big Knob - Good
Presonus Central Station - Better
SPL MTC2381- Best

Another alternative monitoring solution would be Mindprint Trio, although that is a preamp aswell. I do not have any personal experience but think it looks kind of cool.
