T-Racks 64 bit

Question:

I just purchased T-Racks Deluxe on the group by for $99 and got the Black 76 and White 2A.
Quite a steal at $99, getting the Pultec EQ1A, The Fairchild 670, and 7 other processors,
including metering sweet and analyzer..which alone are worth the $99...as well as getting
the Black and White for FREE...but, I'm not seeing the 64 bit versions of the plugs...
The 32 bit versions are there, but not the 64 bit...

BTW...I have to say that the emulations are quite nice on the Pultec, Fairchild, Black, and White...

Definitely worth the $99 for 11 very high quality Plugs...actually 12 if you include the metering...

Anyone had this experience and can help resolve this I'd greatly appreciate the info..

Thanks in advance!

I had the trial version of T RackS 3.  I read where that was still a 32 bit app.  ??

    Hello,
IKM plugs went 64 Bit since version 3.5.
There is only one installation file.
If you follow the installation steps, then you'll be asked to install 32 Bit, 64 Bit or rtas (pro tools format).
    Thats all

Depending upon what the installer considers your default x64 vst folder, it probably installed them in a directory your VST Scan setting aren't set to scan, if you left it with the default settings it may have put them in such a folder - just rerun the installer and either make changes to a folder definitely in your path, or note where they were installed and add that path to your VST Scan options.

That's what I suspect your issue may be, T-Racks have been x64 for a while now and the installed definitely asks to install both version as well as RTAS.

Hope you get it worked out - they are very good emulations and have been used in  many of my mixes.

It maybe that you installed the 64bit plugs in a folder that your VST manager does not have that folder location input into the VST scanner.

Notation, the original DAW. Everything else is just rote. We are who we are and no more than another. Humans, you people are crazy.

The installer most likely put the x64 dlls in "Program Files/vstplugins".
Move them or add that to the scan path in plugin manager.
I put mine in their own folder like this:
    Program Files/Cakewalk/vstplugins/TRackS3
    HTH

BTW, the x32 dlls are 196kb, the x64 are 211kb

Maybe I'm a little out of subject, but do T- racks brings something more in comparison to the Pro-channel modules ? Or, (no offense), is it just a psychological satisfaction to have redundant extra stuff ?

T-Racks plugins are not just for use in mixing, it's an entire package with individual plugins that can be used alone or in the T-Racks shell for mastering as well.  Think of it more as something like Ozone, but that can also be used as individual pieces.  It also has plugins that are not yet in ProChannel and while some are modeled after similar hardware it's never bad to have a variety of flavors even if they can sound quite a like.

Add to that the fact that T-Racks can be used in other products (a big deal for many) and the reasons become quite clear as to why one might want both.

I wouldn't just say buy something because it's a bargain, pete, but the price makes it a no brainer if you don't have any other 3rd party covering the same stuff. All the plugs can be used as singles as well as creating a mastering chain. I think you can get by with most DAWs now but it's a good opportunity to add a few tools without too much pressure on the wallet.

All the info about them and what they do is there, so have a read and if you don't think you need it then walk on by. They do what it says on the tin. It's not a UAD tin, or a Waves tin or FabFilter tin but it's a tin nevertheless.

    Thanks for the replies guys...

    All those things were considered...

When asked by the installer it said it put them in the Cakewalk VST directory...
I'm not at home now so will have to check to see if they are there...
I installed just the 64 bit and got nothing...
So installed both 64 bit and 32 bit...
Now the 32 bit show up but still no 64 bit...

    At $99 I agree with Jind....it's a no brainer...

That's $500 worth of awesome plugs for $99 bucks..
Granted a low price is not a reason to buy something...

BUT the T-Racks plugs are incredible..and I've only
briefly played with the 32 bit versions...and the difference is
quite clear...especially the Pultec EQ....very warm and cozy..LOL

I have ALL the PC modules...when they are practically giving them
away...as was IK on this deal...then WHY NOT HAVE THEM?

    Hi cclarry,
yes you're right, the vintage compressors and the pultec sounds great, and not only for that price!
After i've read your last post, i can remember that there is a problem in the installation process. I'm not quite sure, but as far as i remember if you choose 64 Bit, you get 32 Bit Plugin.
If you choose both 32 Bit and so on. A little bit annoying.
Try to install only 32 Bit, perhaps you get 64 Bit

The best way is, to contact IKMultimedia Forum (at the moment the server seems to be down)

Where did you find it for $99??? I have it, but I paid $299 (and didn't get the black and white). I'd love to pick another copy of it up for a second DAW that I have. The metering is quite wonderful.

You can use the one you have on another DAW. You usually get 5 authorisations with IK stuff.

It's been on sale for quite a long time. You must have been in the international space station to have missed it.

Unfortunately you just missed out on a group buy for T-Racks 3 Deluxe that included incentives for 1000 and 2000 purchases - at those levels they tossed in White 2A and Black 76.  It just ended on the 31st of last month I'm affraid.

But as has already been said, you can authorize it up to 5 times so no reason not to use what you have on multiple PCs.

Yea, I know you only get a few authorizations with it, but I've upgraded my regular DAW 3 times over the last 2 years and now I only have a few authorizations left. You know, I haven't really looked into it. I may be able to deregister the older authorizations and get them back (I know you can do this with toontrack's ezmix software). If not, is T-Racks still on sale?

I know with IK Amplitube 3 you have to install with administrator privileges. Might be worth giving that a try its what I had to do to get Amplitube 3 to work in 64 bit for me :)

I just installed T-Racks on my second computer (64 bit) from the install CD that came with the box.  The initial install did not give me a 64 bit option and only installed the 32 bit full vst application. I then went to their website and downloaded the update. I was then given the option for the directory of the 64 bit install of each individual plugin, but the entire T-Racks fully contained vst was still only the 32 bit version.

Yes - I'm pretty sure all the boxed versions still only contain the original installers which were 32 bit.  Once registered, I've always gone out to my downloads and installed the latest versions which contain the x64 installs as that was only added sometime last year if I recall.  I just do further installs from the downloaded versions so I always know I have the latest on each system.

Group buys are simple - they set a a level, or several levels, that when meet the price of a product goes down.  As the various targets are meet, those in the group buy keep getting better prices and in some cases incentives are added as IK Multimedia did with this one for T-Racks 3 Deluxe with the addition of either Black 76 or White 2A for free at 1000 entrants, and both if it got to 2000 (which it did).

Group Buys really tend to be some of the best ways to get a product at great prices and with included extras.  You can find out about all the various group buys by following the Market Place forum over at KVR.  IK Multimedia is one of the regular group buy companies - I can't imagine buying anything from IK at retail, but that's just me as it's likely to get included in a group buy or at a bare minimum offered at a sale price sometime during the year (especially if they may be releasing a new version).
