TS-64 Transient Shaper suddenly went missing. Help!

For some reason, I no longer have access to TS-64. I try to open it and all I get is a box that says it is missing or not installed correctly. It has always worked in the past. Any idea how/where I can re-install it from?

If I got that error I would locate the TransientShaper folder that contains the .dll and resource folder and make sure it exists in a VST scan path and that it is being scanned properly. I'd also look for duplicates in any other VST scan paths that may be complicating things.

It's a part of the Boutique FX suite and the last time I ran that installer it didn't give me an option to do a custom install to only select the TS-64 but might be worth a try if everything else checks out.
:Edited to correct - even though I knew it was part of the Boutique suite I typed Engineering suite instead

More data would be helpful. For example does "worked in the past" mean before doing an update, or an hour ago? If the former, it could be a reset AND rescan issue, but it's impossible to tell.

Re: TS-64 Transient Shaper suddenly went missing. Help! 2015/06/20 09:58:51 (permalink)
I tried putting the Transient shaper on a bus and I also get the message that it is missing.  This is on a fully patched Windows 7 32bit machine with 4 gig ram running version 21.4.00 build 30 of Sonar Platinum

The file definitely exists in my VST path.  I have done a rescan of VSTs with both "re-scan of failed plugins" and "re-scan of exisiting plugins" options checked.  I even tried deleting the TransientShaper folder from the vst folder and reinstalling the "Boutique Suite" (which the Transient Shaper is part of) and performing another rescan as before (i.e. with both "re-scan of failed plugins" and "re-scan of existing plugins" options checked)

When inserting the plugin I get "The following VST plug-in failed to load" and the full path of the DLL (which does match the actual full path of the VST)

Then I get the error message "Cakewalk Missing Plug-in Stand-In"

Also, in the cakewalk plug-in manager, I select the TS64_TransientShaper, yet there is no entry in the Vendor or VST ID:.  However, I go to the relevant part in the registry and both those fields have entries.  I also notice that the DOS name is correct in the registry (The DOS name is TS64_Tra)

Wow! promidi beat me to the details and his are the same as what I am seeing here. As to when it went missing.... hard to say since it's not something I use every day but, I'm sure I used it after the Dorchester update.

I just checked it out with SONAR Platinum, same build, Windows 7, however my system is 64-bit and the TS-64 shows up in both tracks and buses.

You mentioned doing a re-scan, but did you do a reset and re-scan? Choose Edit > Preferences > VST Settings and under Scan Options, click on Reset. Then re-scan. Circle back and let us know if that worked for you or not.

Thanks Craig. Personally, I only did a rescan, not a reset. I will do that later today and see what happens.

The plug in manager is a fickle beast. I installed 1 new plug yesterday that had 2 versions. After the scan it told me it had found 60 new plugs but the count only incremented by 2.

I did the reset and scan and afterwards, the Transient Shaper was no longer listed in my list of plugins.  I even went into the Cakewalk Plug-in Manager and viewed the registered plugins under the heading "VST Audio Effects (VST)" and the Transient Shaper was no longer there either.

I am wondering if we have an issue with yours being 64bit and mine being 32bit.

I'm running 32 bit, as well. Have a session going on so I can't try anything out yet.

Transient Shaper was updated with the last installer of Boutique FX. It's working for me on 64 bit, but maybe the 32 bit version of the DLL is not. So, try a roll back, if you need the plugin, and report the problem to Cakewalk, so they can look for it.

That's it.  I rolled back to version 1.0.0.7 of Boutique FX, did a VST reset/scan and then was able to insert TS64.

I Backed up the TS64 DLL, Re-updated to version 1.0.0.9 of Boutique FX, could not insert TS64.  Restored just version 1.0.0.7 of the TS64 DLL file, I was able to insert.

So, looks like on a 32bit system, the update to version 1.0.0.9 of Boutique FX borks the Transient Shaper 64

I have lodged a problem report CWBRN-33702

Meanwhile, you can [probably use the Transient Shaper in the PX-64. It's not quite as flexible, but it comes really close.

More importantly, why isn't the CCC telling me that those components were updated? There's no yellow light indicating a change and I've still got the original boutique effects. How did others get the updated package?

There were updates to the Boutique and Engineering Fx Suites as indicated in the Everett eZine and also in my case in the CCC. I don't know what to suggest.

In both those suites a few plugins had been reported as causing audio spikes for some users.

Thanks Mudgel, I think I'd best let sleeping dogs lay. Strange that CCC showed nothing but it's under construction so I'll check again in a month.

One last question before I assume it's some kind of bug. After you re-updated to version 1.0.0.9 of Boutique FX, did you do the reset+re-scan? It would need to be done right after an update to make a difference. Not saying you haven't found a problem, but it might be worth one last shot of re-install + reset + rescan.

Sorry to revive a old post but wondering if there is a reolution to this. Recently upgraded to Platinum from X3 and Transient shaper dissapeared. Is TS a thing of the past for us on 32bit?

IT should still be there. Reset you plug ins and rescan. You should also be sure to download ALL the effects and instrument packages through the command center.

Thanks John for the fast reply. I have tried those things. The TS .dll does appear to be installed. It is in The Cakewalk Vst plugins folder and a path is set in Plug in manager. Sonar recognizes all the other plugs in that folder, just doesn't recognize the TS anymore.

The same thing has happened to me. Running Sonar Platinum on a 32 bit machine and TS-64 in now not recognised by plug in manager. I've located the dll in the usual file path that is correctly referenced by plug in manager but it just doesn't recognise it. I generally use the transient designer in PX-64 which is stil working fine but TS-64 gives you a bit more control which is useful when using on bass sound so it's a shame to lose it. I'll log a support request, promidi did you ever get a response to your problem report?

It's important you do what ampfixer says and do a RESET followed by a RESCAN, then use the Default All Plugins list

Yeh I tried deleting the TS-64 folder re-downloading the boutique suite, checking the folder was back and then re-setting plugins and re-scanning but to no avail. Pretty sure it's a bug for those of us still stuck on 32-bit machines

+1. No TS-64 joy in 32 bit after deletes, reloads, resets, rescans.

Submitted a support request over a week ago now, still no response, is that the kind of service I can expect from Sonar support? I thought some of my monthly subscription went on support, it's not good value for money if it does...

Thanks for the info, is it possible to download this version of TS-64 (while keeping the rest of boutique suite as the latest) from command centre or cakewalk account area?
