TTS-1 Midi Assignment

I'm fooling around with the TTS-1 synth in SONAR X-1 Studio for the first time, and no matter what MIDI channel I select in the MIDI pane, it only plays back Channel 1. So how do I fix that? I've attached a screenshot, which might help you to determine what I'm doing wrong. As you can see, I have my Cakewalk TTS-1 track assigned to MID channel 2, but still Channel 1 is the only one playing.

Thanks,
John

    Wrong sub forum.

    But happy to help.

Two ways to go about this
The tts in just like a outboard midi module. In the sence it has 16 midi inputs.

    You can
    1.     change the channel on you controller to channell 2  that correspond to tts track 2  and continue on going up to 16 midi tracks. All this can be recorded onto one midi track in sonar.
    Or
    2.     Open up a new midi track in sonar direct it output to the tts synth. And change the midi channel there to whichever channel you want.

All this can be done with one instance of the tts synth.
Hope this all make sence. I would suggest to you do do the tutorials in the sonar help files to get you up to speed. Maybe buy scott garagus's book.

    Good luck. HTH

Forgot to mention every channel is set up in the beginning to play the same patch piano. Except for channel 10 which is standard for drums. You can change the patch of any any channel by clicking the little box (opens up a dialog box) above each channel strip / track in the tts GUI. If you look on the left there's a legend telling you what does what GUI wise. Edit (the little box) changes the patch/sounds.

    Gotto go goodnite.

As Mike said you're probably better off in the X1 forum but for what it is worth have you tried changing the patch via the inspector/track controls? I've seen something similar before almost like TTS needs to be 'woken up' to get the fact it's on the wrong channel.
