TTS-1 routing ?
I hope I am posting this in the correct place. And I hope I can mention other software here without making any mods mad. Either way, I Have FL Studio 6 XXL Producer Edition, and just added some new plugins, and found Cakewalk TTS-1, among them, I must of just overlooked it before, not sure which prog it came with, I have a few things from cakewalk, but nevertheless, I have a question. It might be directed at someone using FL, or a setting I'm missing. but, How do you add sounds from different "parts" to different channels in FL ? I can set the panio roll, but its only set to work on the first part, "part 1". I have selected (in FL's options for this plug) to browse parameters, not there, show midi output, not there, enable multi outputs, not there either.. Am I missing something obvious ? Or will this not happen in FL ? Really I need to assign each "part" in the TTS-1 mixer to seprate channels in FL, but so far, I'm only pulling my hair out. Many thanks in advance.

I just got CAKEWALK software a few days ago, well, a week or so now... I doubt this came with FL, I'd of seen it befoe.. Regardless, thank you for realizing the kind of money we have to spend on such things... Any chance of helping a guy out ? EDIT; wait, what are you talking about ? OH, no, I got demo's of some other cakewalk stuff, but havent used them yet, I meant, I dont know which this came from, the guitar tracks, kenitic, sonar ? Thats what I ment. Well, yes TTS-1 came w/Sonar. I was surprised to see that you didn't know that it came w/Sonar after putting out some hard-earned cash

Sorry, edited my post,, maybe you get what I ment now :) Anyway, if you can help me with the prob I'm having, I would really appericate it. It'd be a strain on my PC to have to open the whole plug over and over on each channel, plus the other plugs I need to go with it. thanks

In Sonar I'd insert the TTS1, and send different midi parts (channels) to their assigned channels on the TTS1! Did you try the FL forum is what I really MEANT to say. Gotta breathe that stuff out, man. HTH

Hi Hank- Here its like FL dont exisist. There've been quite a few threads here about FLS -- try a search on "FL Studio" (I don't think "FLS" will work). I'm not sure what you want to do. If you want to insert multiple instances of TTS-1 on separate FLS channels, you can certainly do that, but there are other (better) sound generator options. AFAIK, each generator in FLS can only be routed to one mixer channel, so you can't split the TTS-1 voices to different mixer channels, if that's what you're asking. I might be wrong, but that's better asked on the Looptalk forum. -Susan

Hi Hank- Get each of those "parts" assigned to each of those channels. Again, I think a better place to ask is the Looptalk forum. This isn't really a SONAR question. I don't think you can route parts from a single generator to multiple FLS mixer channels, but I'm no expert on that aspect of FLS, so please do try over there. Edit: And having looked at your .png again -- I'm almost positive you can't route from a single generator to different channels. Each sound generator occupies its own channel in FLS. I'm pretty sure you'd have to insert separate instances of TTS-1 in each. But again (again! ), go to Looptalk for a definitive answer. And look into "Layering" in FLS, too, depending on what you want to do. -Susan

Sorry, I am about six years late on this response but there are a couple different ways to do this, just for others that may still want to do this. First way: 1. Go into the settings on your TTS-1 (The little gear icon) and set the MIDI Input Port to any number you desire. 2. Add MIDI Out channels (up to 16) for each instrument in the TTS-1. On the MIDI Out channel settings, set the port to the same number that you used in the MIDI Input Port for the TTS-1. Then adjust the channel accordingly for each instrument. Second way: In the piano roll, change the color of the notes you lay. There are sixteen colors to choose from, each corresponding with a different channel in the TTS-1. The only problem is that the TTS-1 only has four outputs for the mixer, so you can't route each instrument to its own mixer channel. Unless you're using the same effects on every instrument, which is unlikely, you're still fairly restricted.
