Take lanes - what am I doing wrong?

I'm new to X2 so I'm hoping someone can help me out.
I just did 4 passes of a guitar part. When I finished, I assumed I would have each pass in it's own lane and I could comp from there. Instead, this is what I ended up with.

(3 empty take lanes, and 1 lane with audio from the last take).

What settings do I have wrong?

Here's the image url:after 4 takes

Any help would be very much appreciated.

It is too small to see what is going on.

The lanes are opened w/ the small buttons in the track box in the bottom left.  One for "takes" and the other button for automation.  Sometimes it is a little funky.  I was testing an X1 project and had both vol and pan automation.  After closing the lanes when I opened them back up the vol automation lane disappeared and the vol automation itself went back over the audio.  I simply closed the lanes and opened them before it caught again.

The Image URL points to the thumbnail that is tiny. Any way we can see a bigger view?

Open up your pereference page by pressing "P"
    go to the recording section
Make sure you put a ckeckmake in the box that reads"store takes in separate tracks"
This has to be done on a per project basis.
Do this and then see if it doesn't capture all of your takes and let you have them in separate lanes.

Not sure how you got Sonar to run on your phone... but dang! that is a small screen!

    Let's try this again:

I have those options checked. Each take 'deletes' the previous take. I'm left with an additional empty take lane, and only the most recent take contains an actual clip. Weird.

    What OS are you using?

It's working fine here. Did you patch the X2?

I chose the 16 channel 4 bus with SSL preset and used lanes there. Perhaps you can choose that project and go from there?

*If* you have both options ticked, then uncheck them, select apply, and re tick them, then select apply.

EDIT: You want to make sure "Sound on Sound (Blend)" and "Store Takes in a Single Track" is selected.
Sorry, I misread the other poster's advice...

Huh...   if "Sound on Sound" was off but "Store Takes in a Single Track" on, I wonder if each successive lane's clips would be deleted, but not the lane itself, leaving only the last take.    Sounds good in theory!

The difference will be that previous takes will auto mute with "Overwrite" and all takes will play with "Sound on Sound".

I just noticed you must also have "Create New Layer on Overlap" Sonar X1 in Sonar X2 it would be "Create New Lanes on Overlap" toggled as well.
This is probably why the OP is having problems.
