Beep you can be wicked when you want to be! LOL
Wasn't my intent but it is a little funny the thing being blamed for the issue is actually the solution to it.
I'm just assuming the OP is new to the post X2 paradigm regarding takes/layers so it's understandable to not be aware of the notes area. Honestly out of all the really useful new features that have come out since I first became a Sonarite this one stands out as being absolutely one of the most useful to me (due to the LARGE number of takes I do and my OCD way of combing through it all afterward to yank the best of the best).
I would actually like to see the notes section improved upon. Most specifically the ability to have more of "word processor" setup. I'd really like to be able to use line breaks so I can list things like this...
00:00-00:50 = Good
00:50-01:20 = Sloppy
01:20-02:35 = Perfect
and so on. Then as I comp I can take that and do this...
00:00-00:50 = Good/Fin C1
00:50-01:20 = Sloppy
01:20-02:35 = Perfect/Fin C2
The "Fin C1" and "Fin C2" would denote that those sections were used in my final "comps" 1 or 2. That way I can keep track of what got used in which comp without having to clone the track and scroll back and forth. This is important because for double guitar parts I can just raid from the same pool of takes to create the doubles. Making notes as to what I used avoids using the same sections twice in both comps (which only increases volume unless delayed which is toootally wrong for this technique).
Also just generally knowing what was used in what is good for the comping process like if I create a bunch of different versions (like solos, bass runs or drum parts) to try out in the mix then choose the best (or create multiple versions of the song).
That's how I work now but it all has to go in a straight line and the text adjusts to the size of the box so any attempts at formatting around the limitations is VERY cumbersome.
I do it like this...
00:00-00:50=Good-!!Fin!!C1/00:50-01:20=Sloppy/01:20-02:35=Perfect-!!Fin!!C2
or more recently I discovered if I create temporary markers for the comp splits/sections...
1+=!!Fin!!C1/2--/3!!Fin!!C2
The exclamation marks indicate they are indeed the final. Those would be question marks if I was unsure whether I was going to use it or not.
Edit: and I just realized the flaw in that last plan. Once I remove the markers I no longer have my comp section boundary reference if I wanted to go back but that's not a big deal because a) once I comp my tracks I never go back and b) I could just look at the splits and know what number refers to what section (or just set the markers back up again).
Just a peek into the organized chaos that is the Beeps brain.
