Sure. I will. The last thing you need is another soft synth. Buy a sack of good green instead and head to Venice beach with some hot chick and watch the sunset. It's a beautiful day in LA, huh? :)

If you are serious about making music and want the best tools available...then there is absolutely NO reason for anyone to talk you out of getting Omnisphere.  You will not regret it.  Ever.

I remember reading the info on Omnisphere though I never owned it. I think it was in SOS  I read some of how they made it .The engineers were burning a piano while someone attempted to play it and recording that(talk about hot keys!). Creative I'll give 'em that........or on acid.lol!

Since most of us could never afford to do that or any of the hundreds of other things they have done and put into Omnishpere. Its a steal for a sound miester!!

I do have alot of soft synths already but I love trillian and RMX and if omnisphere is spectrasonics flagship I just feel like I am missing out by not owning it.  Plus I love programming on trillian and omnisphere uses the same engine so I would be able to hit the ground running.

this seems to be the consensus of most people who I have talked to who own it.  I have never heard anyone who has it give it a bad review.

Haha. I was only foolin' with ya and following the thread of your thread. I would like Omnisphere as well but I'm taking a break from software and turning my attention to some much needed hardware.

Hah. Tell me that again at 4:00 AM when you're only on #4,998.

You cannot and will not resist scrolling through the presets. You'll see.

Bitflipper I have done just that on other programs with lots of presets...My old Korg Legacy Collection even kept me going for a long time.... I don't write movie music or video games and I am finding I'm a real bread and butter type of guy when it comes to sounds. This is why I don't own Omnisphere.  I already have enough sounds to last me a life time.

    No.

you either want it and you know why and you can afford it OR you don't or can't afford it.  I have no vote on the important things to make that decision.

I am thinking about picking up Omnisphere this weekend.  Anyone want to try and talk me out of it?

With a little patience, you can find a legitimate new boxed copy on EBay for $400.  A frequent listed price is buy-it-now or $429 with "or make an offer".  Offer $400 and you stand a good chance of the offer being accepted.

I'm sorry to say I cannot talk you out of it.

I'm ready to pull the trigger on it myself except I may never post in these forums again.

Some would encourage me to buy it right now.

Don't look to it for organic sounds.  If you're into "spacey pads, etc." and programming your own stuff you will love it.  I bought into the hype and never use it on my material.

If you're into more usable, organic sounds then look to Komplete 7.

That said, Omnisphere is great sounding and fun to mess with.  I have all Spectrasonics stuff and Eric P has yet to disappoint.  Just set your expectations accordingly.

It's up to you what you do and I don't really have an opinion for your own brain.
I do have two questions, in the grand scheme of things:
What do you think it will do for you?
Are you just looking to buy something new for the sake of 'new'?

I have Komplete 7 already so got organic covered.  I am more into designing my own sounds and love designing in trillian so I feel like omni will give me a new tool that I will already know my way around since the interface is so similar to trillian....

Sure. I will. The last thing you need is another soft synth. Buy a sack of good green instead and head to Venice beach with some hot chick and watch the sunset. It's a beautiful day in LA, huh?

It's up to you what you do and I don't really have an opinion for your own brain.
I do have two questions, in the grand scheme of things:
What do you think it will do for you?
Provide me with countless hours of entertainment

Are you just looking to buy something new for the sake of 'new'?
that is definitely part of it I am kind of a gear whore

Say no more :) Did you place your order yet?
