Tape Machine Effect

Would love to see the Tape Machine enhanced to actually have play/record/punch buttons, and to have the kind of effects on audio that that the real thing does.  For example, the beginning of Synchronicity II by the Police - zapping sound on the guitar is the result of starting a tape machine with the guitar already in progress.  Or the sound that's made when you stop a tape machine and it comes to a halt.  Would be great if those same sounds could be recreated.
