Tape/vinyl speed ramp-up or ramp-down effects for the beginning or end of songs possible?

Is there a convincing way to simulate that pitch and speed change that we all know and love? I wish I could think of an example right now, but I'm at a loss. I would be like if you took your source tape and slowly reduced its speed until full stop as you were going into the master deck.

    It's a great little plug.
Read the readme - there's some important stuff included which are important to get it running properly

I usually use Sound Forge. Just load up what you want affected and use pitch bend, but don't check the 'preserve original duration' box. There's a guy who sells legit copies of version 8 on ebay. I've used it for all kinds of weirdness.

Wavelab will do it to. I've got an ancient version though.

I an idea I have to do this would be to load the audio tracks into a soft sampler and then use the pitch wheel to slow the whole song up or down (you could automate it) this way.

I haven't found a PLUG to do this correclty, nor did I ever try the above method but I have given this some thought myself.
