Tascam US1800 anybody?? lots of inputs

Anybody use the Tascam US1800 with windows 7. I really like my setup with the Aardvark Q10 but it requires a PCI slot and WinXP and I have been quite a holdout, but I think I'm going to have to use a windows 7 Daw eventually.

thanks for any perspective. I know there were some problems in the 2011 posts, but I was wondering if anybody found improved drivers.
 thanks

I had problems with it on WinXP-32bit. Occasionally, when recording and hitting stop when finished, Sonar would freeze and you could not save the result.

Back then I solved it with ASIO4All.

I now have Win7 64bit, installed the standard Tascam 64 bit drivers (no ASIO4All on my Win 7 PC) and have never had problems ever again.

It is an excellent interface. The US-1800 is a reworked US-1641; basically the same except

    1. They moved the power supply onto a separate board

    2. They moved the transformer out of the box entirely

    3. They removed the green Signal LEDs to reduce the risk of clicks (although the US-1641 did not suffer from this. The US-144-II did.)

    It is a great unit.

I doubt we'll ever see so many inputs at that quality again in that price category.
