Taste Tests; Pro Channel 1176 and 4K vs Hardware Units.

I stumbled across an audio blog page which includes side-by-side sound samples of audio content played through Pro Channel compressors and their hardware equivalents.

The URL is http://rhythminmind.net/1313/?page_id=2948 and the taste tests are all hard to find unfortunately (and a little hard to read too); to find the 1176 test, go a little ways past the halfway down the page, just past the post about AD/DA syncronization testing.

A little further down, there's a link to a further audio comparison between Pro Channel and SSL 4Ks.

(One other thing that i found worth checking out, just above the 4k test, is the comparison between a mix completed totally ITB and the same mix completed on an analog summing mixer.)

Regards
Glenn

Nice find - this shows for me that the plugin is plenty sufficient to get some good 1176 tone without the hardware unit-
