Taurus pedal vst--HollowSun compared to IK's version

Does anyone have both HollowSun Taurus and IK's Taurus (which is included in IK's SampleMoog)? Wonder how Hollow Sun compares to IK's version.  I am considering getting a few more HollowSun products soon, very probably their StringSynths, CP70, and Novachord and maybe just maybe their Taurus.  Might even just get the Vintage Prog Pack Bundle, but just would be interested in what others here think about HollowSun's Taurus.

Anyone have their Taurus and willing to share their opinion.

Hi
I have the Novachord and Strings - both really excellent.
I have Steven's Bass6 so didn't get the Tarus.
I have the CP covered in Mach 5 so never purchased this one either, but I have tried it and I think this is excellent as well. I would have definitely purchased this if I did not already have and use it elsewhere.
Hope this helps

I just fired up Sampletank and Kontakt and did a comparison.

I tried the ST 2.5 Taurus pedals (I do not have Sample Moog) and its a pretty decent patch which you can vary considerably with the filter and envelope controls.
Then the Hollow Sun NKIs, there are 4, straight, detunes, 5ths and Octaves. They are earth-shattering along side the Sampletank patches.

That said the ST ones may be easier to tame in a mix and are not limited to the range of the original like the Hollow sun instruments.

Prog Pack is great. It looks like you still get the original "Newtron Bomb" with it's very raw Mellotron sounds. Newtron Bomb III is much more civilized with layering and effects but I still like the original. The String synths and CP70 are excellent too.  The Hammond and RMI sounds are thrown in as extras, they are basic but usable.

Thank you both very much!!  I figured that both of you would have had experience with these vintage prog devices.  I own GForce's M-Tron and SampleTron so I am on the fence about getting Newtron Bomb as it is a little redundant, but then it is the raw sounds.  I definitely will get the Novachord and Strings and will have to decide about the Bass6 or the Taurus and the CP and RMI.  The taurus that I remember live was "earth-shattering" but I can see how it would be too much in a mix; the Sampetank one I own just seems "anemic" compared to what I remember of the Taurus (mk1) live.

Again, you both have helped with needed info.

If you are considering Bass 6, you might also want to look at the Hideaway bass offering too.  I forget the name of it, but it allows you to layer analog bass samples with FM bass samples, and it sits well in a mix.  And don't forget to download the free Bass Station from HS as well.

If you are interested in trons and Novachords, I would have to recommend the Optometron, which is based off of optical keyboards such as the optigan, or Cathotron.  I don't recall the details of where the Cathotron samples come from, but the library provides wonderfully crusty string and choral sounds.

One more thing. I just got the Komplete 8 to Komplete 9 upgrade and I have been trying out Monark.  Monark could be what you need, ultra powerful analogue bass with control and flexability way beyond a sample based instrument. (And stunning leads too.)

Good to know.  I ordered K9 Ultimate and am waiting on it to be delivered--back ordered.  I think I may just order Novachord and String Synths to start, and then add others as needed.  That Novachord is not that frequently sampled; only two companies that I know about (HollowSun/Hideaway and Soniccouture), and it has been high on my Xmas wish list for some time.  Getting it and Strings is a nice start; then pending Monark, I will decide about Taurus or Bass6 and any vintage keys.  BTW, it is because K9 was so cheap that I had the extra money to order some HollowSun products; I budgeted for K9 and it was surprisingly on sale for $225 less than I had budgeted.  So I am definitely getting some HS products and at least one from Indiginous.

Again thanks to all here who are helping me make this decision.
