Templates for mixing a project

Hello guys,
haven't used Sonar since ver. 1 and decided to join back in with ver. 7. So far I am liking what I see but there are a few things that I can't grasp yet.
Since I've abandoned Sonar 1 I've been working mostly in Pro Tools professionally and with Cubase at home. So this is where things get a little sketchy for me...

Say I have an hour worth of tracking that I did with the same band on the same session and they're after pretty much the same sound on all the songs...

I want to work on a mix and at a point where I like the drum eq's and so forth I want to be able to apply that to all the other songs.

Pro Tools will let me create a template and populate that template by importing the audio files into it from my tracking template. Cubase allows me to save channel settings from the Mixer Window...and Sonar can't do either? Seriously - how can I go about achieving this?

I want to import effect levels, bussing and volume level information from say song A into song B, keeping the audio data intact. How do I do that?

There are many many maaaaaaany ways to do that!

1.Applying the same EQ setting on lots of projects: Preset saving - simple as it sounds
    or
2.Drag-copy-paste settings between two open projects' effects (requires the "more than one project opened" option in general settings to be enabled),the same goes to audio files

3.Track templates - you can save a track as a template with various options (see the help files for more on this)

    Another way ( a bit more arcane, but that's me);
    - get your first song to where you are happy with all settings (FX, mix, bussing, buss FX, etc).
    - Re-open this file, and DELETE all audio clips, then quickly "save as" filename: mixing_template.cwp
    - open this saved-as version (with all settings but no audio) as well as the actual second song file from your tracking sessions (the file with audio but no "tweaks"). Drag / copy the audio from the second tracking cwp to the save-as that has the fx & bussing as you wish.
    - THEN save-as "song_2_sounding_good.cpw" (etc.)
    - repeat with song #3, etc.

    Welcome to sonarland!

The help files were anything but helpful in regard to this. I remember Sonar 1 had much better manual than I am seeing on ver. 7, I can't believe I am saying this as Cubase had the most abysmal manual from the DAWs back in the day but their ver. 4 manual is making more sense than Cakewalk's now :(

I'd look over your suggestions when it comes time to mix - thanks guys!

Sorry to ressurect an old topic...

The Geek mentioned this but I can't find it in version 7?
