Tempo changes - Using MIDI CC possible?
Hi, basic question here but may interest few people.
I am looking for a more "natural" way to modify or fluctuate tempo throughout a song. I find tempo maps not not that easy or natural. So I thought of something. Is it possible to use a MIDI CC number to modulate tempo in realtime and record that data to a track or somewhere else while the song is playing? For example, if my basic tempo is 132 BPM I could tell SONAR that CC valus of 64 =132 BPM. So, if I increase above that it goes faster and if I go below 64 it slows down. It could also be a table like :
CC 127 = 264 BPM (2x speed)
CC 64 = 132 BPM
CC 01 = 1BPM
For example, using CC 2 on the the Mod wheel would be like "playing the conductor" for an orchestral piece.
Is that feasible or does someone have an alternative way to do somethong like that?
