Tempo view - change BPM for entire song quickly?
SPLAT - HP Envy - Windows 10 - not sure what my PC stats are - will add eventually.
I am using Addictive Drums 2 and have a song with a tempo change at the very end. I have programmed an entire song for AD 2 and for the most part each pattern is 16 beats long.
Seems like, once you open tempo view you can no longer click on the BPM at the top of Sonar (think it is called the Control panel) and change the tempo of the entire song. Rather, you have to change the tempo on each pattern in the Tempo view.
Is there a quick way to change the tempo for the entire song in the temp view?
I am writing the song, had it at 100 BPM and I wanted to try it at 106 BPM (which sounds much better).
But with the tempo view I had to manually enter the tempo change for each pattern - I did it but was just curious if there is a faster way to do it for the entire song.

Two ways, but first you will want to delete all tempo data in the tempo view:
1) Click on the BPM number and type in the desired BPM.
2) Project -> Insert Tempo. The default setting changes the tempo from the beginning.
One warning, if you have any audio in your project, you'll want to be careful changing tempos so you don't inadvertently alter the audio itself, or have the audio clips move around.

Thanks Dan - extremely helpful. So, go to the right side of the Tempo View and delete each of the, what would you call them, entries that have the time and tempo. Then I should be able to click on the BPM at the top and change it there for the entire song, correct? Or, after deleting the entries on the Tempo view then go to Project - Insert Tempo, correct? Oh yes - learned the hard way before about changing the tempo when you have audio. Thankfully this project is just at the beginning where I am creating the MIDI track for Addictive Drums 2 - so no audio yet. Al

For future reference, copy-pasting can insert superfluous copies of the original tempo later in the project. Use Copy Special Ctrl+Alt+C, and uncheck Tempo Changes to prevent this. After doing it once, that copy preference will persist until you use Copy Special again and re-check it.

Oh yeah - that was another lesson I learned the hard way on another song a few weeks ago. The good thing is - you never forget those kinds of lessons.

So now that I have a project that I used the tempo view on - will the next project I open default to the tempo view? I am thinking Sonar will not but just curious. Like when you set up soft synth settings (like I did with AD 2 so that going forward whenever I open AD 2 it now opens with mono tracks and all the drums are on their own separate track).
The tempo view is not like that right?

Got it - I know what the Project Template is but not familiar with what a Lens is. Appreciate the help! Ah, a quick trip to Sonar's help and now I know what a lense is.
