Test

So lately, these forums have been getting randomly slower and slower... I've also seen bits of codes and graphic issues for the last 2 days. For example, when this window popped up for me to type my message, in the upper right corner, there was & N S P B. I cannot start a thread w/ Safari. Clicking on the Post New Thread button has no result. I'm using Firefox right now, doing some tests. I cannot quote-reply w/ Safari. I cannot post an image link w/ Safari. I keep getting the following pop up all the time.

And did I mention - people using FF: I get what you mean now and I feel your pain...

Man these forums are a joke. (The software I mean).

IE Tab in FF will solve most of the problems, but it's not perfect as it seems to create other issues. See Here

I am using IE 10 and really having no problems at all and everything is fast. Alas... my browser and this forum are both much faster, more effective and productive than I am... maybe if I get a new kitchen I will get off my duff. Yeah, that is what I need.

Don't know if it's me but it's only getting worst. Can't post links anymore, can't edit my posts and internal links to navigate in the forum seem to work when they feel like it.

    Thanks. I'll try that.

I'm using Safari as my main browser but I'm also having issues w/ FF (though not as many).
What's weird is that some things seem to be totally random. Earlier tonight I couldn't preview posts. Now I can. Same browser, no change on my end whatsoever.

Here's another example of those little display bugs.

See how the "Post new thread" button doesn't show up and the text is broken in two lines, or the  <tr> thingie...

Though, at the moment, everything seems to be working - unlike just an hour ago... That's the odd thing: it is totally random, and it's not just one thing but a bunch of different bugs.

Whenever I get one of those forum "features," I just hit refresh (usually <F5>) and it tends to display correctly.

Yup, Refresh does the trick for those. In fact, probably wouldn't have paid attention if they were the only problem.

For me, most of the time it's like going downstream in a speedboat at full throttle.

But occasionally it's like going up a ski slope with an elephant strapped to my back.

Other times it's like being strapped up in a straight jacket whilst trying to navigate a river full of crocodiles.

Rarely, it's like being sucked into a black hole, torn to a trillion pieces then miraculously rematerialized in a parallel universe.

LOL Good one. :) See, this morning, I can't even post a reply using Safari. If I hit "Reply to Message" it takes me back to the top of the page. If I use "Quick Reply" at the bottom of the page, nothing happens when I click "Post Message".

I saw something interesting on the news last night. For the last couple weeks there have been a number of cyber attacks going on at a few companies. It seems the attacks are so big that all internet traffic is being slowed down.

I've noticed it for the last week, and combined with the outdated forum software it's been painful.

    Regards, John

That could explain the slowness, indeed. Here's another fine example of issues I'm having. From my end these days, if someone told me so, it wouldn't be hard to believe that this place is falling to pieces and has been abandoned to die a slow death...

EDIT - Okay, so it's frickin' TOTALLY random.

Craig - I take that you mean the page not being 100% loaded? Looking at the status bar, everything seems ok. If I knew more about that stuff, I could probably figure out what's wrong based on the various pop-ups I've seen in the last week about ASP this and that and so on...

No...  I meant the page being viewed at 100% (in IE the percentage shows at the bottom right).

I've had issues lately where the page doesn't load 100% as well, but it cuts things off in the middle not at any place consistently.

Oh, I see. And guess what - for no obvious reason, in Safari Quick Reply is suddenly available (Reply to Message still isn't). That being said, clicking Post Message does nothing. But I can now type in that box. It's like anything linked to a function (Post, Quote, Jump to) ceases to work for sometime at random times.

    Day 24 356...

After having issue posting w/ Safari every other day, it appears that I can no longer start a thread w/ neither Safari nor FireFox.

It's almost like being banned, but part-time.

EDIT - But look: I can edit now, something I couldn't do all day today w/ either browser. Woohoo!
