Google is your friend."Text to speech" gave a couple of results. I assume it's english language version you're looking for? http://www.naturalreaders.com/download.php BUT...recording the speech is another thing. You need a separate plugin for that, I think, if your soundcard does not have "What you hear"-setting. IIRC, there are several (free) recorder-plugins, but I've never needed one, so I can't recommend anything. Then again, there are many free vocoders, as well.
SONAR PE 8.5.3, Asus P5B, 2,4 Ghz Dual Core, 4 Gb RAM, GF 7300, EMU 1820, Bluetube Pre - Kontakt4, Ozone, Addictive Drums, PSP Mixpack2, Melda Creative Pack, Melodyne Plugin etc. The benefit of being a middle aged amateur is the low number of years of frustration ahead of you.

Thank you for your reply. I did try google, but stumbled upon that i could not record the actual speech without having to purchase a product. Which for about 4 lines of vocals i dont want to spend £50 :(

Which for about 4 lines of vocals i dont want to spend £50 :( If you want to stick to text2speech you could try this for the recording. There are others, too. http://hgsounds.com/product/hgs-wav-recorder-vst-plugin/ The above mentioned TAL is quite a good vocoder.

Ok just got tal working, and it seems to really cheapen the vocal sound, from a really clean quality signal it sounds like i recorded it on a £5 mic at the other side of the room, lol. I know im probably doing your guys heads in, but i just want to sound like a human robot!!!! :P Zeano

If you don't mind a female voice, You can use Narrator if you're in Windows. Do a search on it from the Windows start bar. I turned off the menu reading options, and open Wordpad, typed what I wanted to say, and highlighted it. It read it perfectly. There are a few options to slow down and change the pitch, but not much. For a male voice you could record it and slow it down much further. I think if you have XP it used a male Voice ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iKfdBkT-unk)

another option is the free GSnap Autopitch - you can try the presets "robotic" and "single pitch", these create very robotic sounds too!

Use the Text Speaker, text to speech software. It has customizable pronunciation and can create WAV or MP3's from your text. The bundled voices are well priced and there is an excellent selection.

I must admit that I'm pretty much done with text to speech converters to be honest. I've tried all of the above and then run the output through a couple of different vocoders, some free, some paid for. Result has been, in a word, awful and I am now of the opinion that I need to create the speech with my own voice instead. Not an inspiring prospect, which is probably why I have done that yet, but it has to be better than the current run of text to speech converters currently available. My vocoder of choice is now Vocodex by Image Line.
