I would suggest downloading for future purchases/upgrades. Seems like it would be cheaper and faster, for you UK folks. Just a thought, Bob Bone

You obviously don't live in deepest darkest Norfolk. Still two cans and a piece of string here..... infinity indeed, should be more like infinite..... the length of time you wait for a download.

I wonder what "we currently have no plans to upgrade your exchange" means? Seriously though I got an email from my ISP a while back to let me know we're getting upgraded to ADSL2 (stop laughing) and the work would be complete on 31st August. Still waiting.... although in fairness I don't think it specified this year.

Infinity is fantastic... More for the upload speeds than anything else. Karl, I can't believe deepest darkest Norfolk isn't still on dial up? Surely that's a step in the right direction ;-) Ps Thanks for all the vids you did to help us all out, really hope your official one is a huge success! Bibs

I'm in the West Midlands, about 3/4 of a mile as the crow flies from the major exchange. DSL speeds are pretty good here, and pretty much error free - but downloading anything from Cakewalk can still take days. I suspect Cake's servers really don't like me......... PS - glad things seem to have got sorted out Mike.
Sonar Platinum 64bit, Windows 8.1 Pro 64bit, I7 3770K Ivybridge, 16GB Ram, Gigabyte Z77-D3H m/board, ATI 7750 graphics+ 1GB RAM, 2xIntel 520 series 220GB SSDs, 1 TB Samsung F3 + 1 TB WD HDDs, Seasonic fanless 460W psu, RME Fireface UFX, Focusrite Octopre. Assorted real synths, guitars, mandolins, diatonic accordions, percussion, fx and other stuff.

CakeAlexS I live in deepest darkest Notting Hill in London. DSL was as bad as remote areas of Wales (would you believe) until Infinity came in. Hopefully they're be with you soon.... Line check here: http://www.productsandservices.bt.com/consumerProducts/displayTopic.do?topicId=29017 just up the road from me..(I used to spend many hours in Westbourne park rd / kensal road) joke being Richard Branson (virgin media boss) lives there.. "was" as bad, nah it's not too bad, hasn't been for years.. way to suss it before , is how far you are from the exchange.

Up until 3 month ago drop outs regularly between 4pm and 6pm when the kids game from school. Like maybe 10 times an hour every day. Too many people on the line, thank god those days are over Fog.

Bibs Thanks Bibs..... standard DSL here, I get around 2.5 Mbs on a good day. I must be several miles from the exchange and the string BT uses as line must be fairly rotten as well. It's part of the price I pay (and accept) for living in the countryside. Believe it or not there are still areas on dial up but there's a big grant just been awarded by someone to someone to to get those places into the 1990s soon. On the plus side I can record a full band in my lounge without pissing off the neighbours.
