Thank you Cakewalk for an awesome product!
I've used Sonar X3 every day for a while now and ..just WOW! The stability, the features.. everything!.. It certainly shows that you've worked really hard on this release and also that you've really listened in on what we (your customers) want I wish I could express in words how much I appreciated this!.. You totally nailed it this time! (sure; there'll always be things that can become better, but I really think you've made all the right decisions and that X3 is more than anyone could have ever hoped for) I haven't been around the forums for a few days (have been in Sonar-land) so I don't know how much people have written about their X3-experiences and their appreciation. ..Doesn't matter though.. You deserve to hear this over and over again! Awesome work! Keep it up! P.S. Thanks for the X3b update, by the way! D.S.

No show stoppers* here since initial X3b. *You know, the kind that make you NOT be able to even use the program. Ok, there was the UAD after a VST3 bug, but reverting to VST2 (until X3b came along) was a simple and effective stop gap. Simples.

I've had a few issues but the basic code is there to fix the problems I had. The problems I had were exclusive to my own individual system, and not a X3 issue. The plug-in manager is a fabulous tool that can help fix issues....my initial tests have all been very positive with no problems to report. I am very happy with how well my computer can record, playback, edit and help me with music in general. The plug-in packages and updates are a very welcome addition to my software collection. Overall I'm thrilled with the new X3b !!!

My favorite feature is the pop up PC EQ. Blue Tube effects, Melodyne, AD drum, Strum connected to TH1 effects (I am a pianist who can't play guitar, so finally I can fake through some guitar sound). Can't wait to play with the new Comp feature. Wait a minute, did I just mention almost all of the new X3 features. Thanks cakewalk for an awesome upgrade.

X3 is "Totally Awesome", thanks Noel and all the Cakewalk staff !. It's been a journey getting there, but it looks like Cakewalk had a vision, stuck to it, and have probably made it over the biggest humps in the road ahead of them from the earlier X series releases. I am way more than just impressed with X3, and will now delay investing in any other companies DAW given what X3 has brought to the table. Fixes to long running bugs certainly grabbed my attention with the X3b update - in particular: - Resolved a crash when using direct MIDI output with multiple VST Instruments simultaneously, such as multiple instances of JamStix or Catanya (CWBRN-5781, CWBRN-2504, CWBRN-2564, CWBRN-1739)
The "Overall Stability and Improved Feature Set" ... is simply outstanding now, making huge leaps forward in workflow and usability. - Stability
- VST3 Support
- New Comping tools
- Browser Features
- Quad Curve EQ enhancements
- Integrated Melodyne (well worth upgrading !)
- Color customization
Just to mention a few :-) Congratulations Cakewalk ... you've totally pulled my chain (in a good way) with this release !. I really didn't expect to see anything this good, this time around :-) I'd recommend X3 for sure, new, or as an upgrade, to anybody. Thanks again all you Cakewalk Dudes :-) Cheers - Cliff

Is it just my imagination, or do projects load faster? And when you move the Now time around in a project when it's playing it also seems to start playback faster? Frankly, I had high hopes for X3 but this is even better than expected in terms of having a really solid feel.

I was mixing a small project in X3a for the first time last night, and it was great TBH. I'm coming from X1 so take lanes is gonna take some getting used to, but there's so much greatness here. One thing that nobody on here has talked about but I LOVE is the new BlueTubes stuff. I tried a bunch of out and will probably be using them quite a bit! The chorus and flanger are fantastic. Especially the stereo applications.

A few people have noticed this. Some of the overall VST updates involved some subtle changes to the VST load sequence. I suspect this reduces the traffic of messages to the plugin during load and could account for faster load times on plugin laden projects, particluarly for plugins that have hundreds of parameters. There were also changes to the timeline seeking logic (for ARA), although I don't have an explanation yet why it would be faster :-P

No its not your imagination or then we both need to see some one about group hallucinations. Its simply better behaved and feels a lot more solid. An example for me is the demo for X3. It uses all my cores to a fair degree that in older versions would cause a hang or dropout. Not with X3 though.

Yeah, the modulation FX (and delays) are pretty nice - I can definitely see me using them. I'm a bit undecided on the EQs and Comps though, mainly because I'm so used to the PC versions (UI and sound). And just another +1 on the overall X3 experience. So far so good geat.

Comping for me is the stand out feature. My workflow has been automated. I'm also using the Blue Tubes Chorus and delay far more than I thought I would.
