LONDON - British authorities said Thursday they thwarted a terrorist plot to simultaneously blow up 10 aircraft heading to the U.S. using explosives smuggled in hand luggage, averting what police described as “mass murder on an unimaginable scale.”

YES! I had a good friend who flew back to New York today. The new carry-on restrictions aren't too much of a pain; and I'm REALLY glad that law enforcement in both Britain & the U.S. is taking all of this seriously.

Now why would you want to go and ask for something like that?

I doubt, though, whether many of the fine British members of our Sonar community actually are members of MI5 or the Met. Perhaps we'll never know.

Thanks Dan. Over 20 British citizens arrested so far. I'm afraid the enemy isn't at the gates, it's within. We give homes and prosperity to people who never adopt our culture and moreover want to kill us. I'm afraid our traditional British values of tolerance and welcoming have backfired on us big time.

one of the worlds problems is far too few people understanding politics (or caring), but shouldn't this forum be for sonar, or studios and music in general not xenophobic bias

I think the word "propaganda" is a bit harsh, but then again so is calling someone "one of those".

And last I checked, this is a music forum.

If the rules here have indeed been changed to include anything in the news, I'd like to broaden it a bit more: anyone care to start a discussion about the character Snape in the Harry Potter series?

Have to wonder how the families of those who perished feel about the "propaganda" captured in the image above...

Resonant, sometimes your personal needs should take a backseat to more serious issues...

I'm not ashamed to admit that I still cry at times when I have cause to relive the horrible events that happened that day...Anyone who cares to "flame" me for my opinion is welcome to do so...Frankly, I don't give a damn...

Well, it depends on what you think I meant by "one of those"...I could see how it might be taken raciallly but that's not what I meant at all...I was refereing to someone being either so ignorant or so blinded by hatred that they couldn't see that a major wolrd event affecting thousands of people's lives just occured. The original post was not political IMO. The "propaganda" reply was.

And last I checked, this is a music forum.

True...but this was a major world event and someone was just thanking our British friends here. ThanX to Resonant Order this thread will get deleted or moved to OT anyway.

Some people seem to react like Pawlow's dog when news contain the magic words "terrorist", "airplane" and "assault", or even "Al Qaida". Personally I don't buy it! If you read the news reports, everything is vague and blurry: "supposedly", "possibly planned", "maybe" etc.

Remember those London bomb assaults last year? After that they haunted down and killed the wrong man. Scotland Yard and MI5 are great! Yeah, right!

Of course you can "mute" everyone who's telling the truth. At least you can then live comfortably numb in your shell...

Do you think you people could find a more appropriate place to discuss The WAR ON TERROR(TM) please?

The Sonar forum is already overwhelmed without rubbish like this and people announcing their copy of Sonar just arrived.

Maybe if you had your facts right this statement would have some weight. I guess you're not "on the ground" in London!

P.S. How exactly do you "haunt" someone down anyway???? :<)

That's the first 4 people ever blocked by me on the Sonar forums.

The reason we have this forum is to discuss music, unfortunately people seem to feel the need to make every part of the internet exactly the same as every other part.
