It is not that accurate. They left out LiquidSonics Reverberate which is a very beautiful reverb as well. Use your ears, don't take something like this as gospel. It is still only their opinion not necessarily fact.

Hi Jeff, didn't mean to suggest "accurate". As he states, ‘best’ is highly subjective.

Yes I agree. I mean it is a bit like what the 10 best DAW's are too. If you asked 10 different people to compile a list you would get 10 totally different lists so that is why I tend to not get into those things too much. I have some of the reverbs in that list but I am often coming back to Reverberate for example simply because I just love the sound of it. You can download a huge set of IR's for Reverberate too which include many of the reverbs mentioned in that list and trust me they sound stellar too.

Ah, bit, but then life wouldn't be crazily interesting anymore, would it. I guess it's one of our most wonderful characteristics that a man may think, time and again, against all knowledge and experience, that the next one will lead us into sheer heaven, musical or otherwise.

I'll say it again, the one that has me gobsmacked is Zynaptiq's Adaptiverb. Have to admit, I adore the sound but also like the GUI. Other favorites: Eventide Blackhole, EW Spaces, Nectar2 Plate, Overtone RVB500 Plate, NI RC24 & 48, PSP PianoVerb2, Valhalla Room and VintageVerb. Runners-up: IK's CSR Room and Plate, d16 Toraverb, Logic Space Designer, Waves TrueVerb, PSP EasyVerb, Eventide Stereo Room 2016.

I'm perfectly happy with a smaller collection. Three, to be exact. One sweet algorithmic (ValhallaRoom), one vintage emulation (ValhallaPlate, although I'm sure I'd like Vintage if I had it), and one for special effects (Toraverb). If I were to add more, it would be to that last category. Maybe if I took up ambient or shoegaze as a genre I'd add ValhallaShimmer or Eventide Blackhole. But for now I could easily make do with just VRoom and nothing else. Of course, now that Fabfilter has a new reverb, that's going to be hanging over my head like an enticing piñata full of unknown treats.

indeed the dev died, then some time later his widow picked it up again, i have both the eq and the reverb, both tasty plugs, they're all x64 now :-) i love the fsu stuff from a.d., dr device can be a secret weapon in the right circumstance (ssssh!)

Horses for Courses - I didn't agree with any of the choices except the UAD Plate 140. It is personal taste and workflow! For me, and in no particular order (but all worth checking out in my not-so-humble-opinion<G>): - Liquidsonics Reverberate - replaces Pristine Space for me
- Eventide Black Hole - cool for special effects
- Zynaptiq Adaptiverb - purchased for special effects, but gets used everywhere
- UAD Plate 140, Lexi 224, Dreamverb, and Ocean Way Studios - each one is stunning in its own way
- Exponential Audio Nimbus - my new one-size-fits-nearly-everything
- PSP Springbox - Sometimes you just need a spring
- CamelSpace - I love this plugin, but I know one day I will no longer be able to use it.
- Lexicon PCM-90 - the hardware, still my all around favorite on the mix
- Micmix Masterroom XL-121 - again, sometimes you just need a spring!
I hope I'm not cheating including my two favorite hardware devices...

My reverb collection includes exactly none on that list. In fact my reverb collection isn't much of a collection at all. I think I have one plug that didn't come with Sonar. I have the focusrite red stuff which I got mainly for the eq. Love that eq. But IIRC it came with a gate and a reverb. I think I've used the gate a handful of times. I don't think I've ever used the reverb on anything.
SPLAT comes with a couple traditional reverb plugs and that convolution thing and between those I can usually find something that works so I haven't felt the need to look elsewhere.
I really like the demos I've heard of the Waves Abbey Road plates. But not enough to justify the price. I also really like the demos I've heard from actual PCM9x hardware. But again, not nearly enough to justify the price so for now, I'm happy to stick with what was included out of the box.

I need to keep that in mind with just about everything. I have Aether, hardly use it because I forget it's there. D16 Toraverb has great presets for electronic genres.

Exponential Audio should absolutely be on that list (IMO, Phoenix Verb bests Lexicon's PCM bundle) The owner of the company Michael Carnes is the mind behind many of the classic Lexicon hardware reverbs. Native Instruments RC24 and RC48 (coded by SoftTube) are very good. These are included in Komplete Ultimate... Relab LX480 is also excellent.

I have eleventy jillion reverbs it seems...many from the list above...and I have favorites for various tasks...but it seems that I reach for the UAD EMT 250 for day to day usage. The Ocean Way setting tweaked to taste mostly. The new Slate Suite is also steadily moving up the list towards "top dog" status in my DAW.

Haha, I know there are a lot of plugin collectors out there. It's just very cool to see so many quality reverbs at very reasonable prices nowadays. I still remember the coolness factor of the Sonitus Reverb back in the day. I appreciate Bit's Henry the 8th comment and am (at least should be) happy with the few I have.
