The Adventures of Mixerman

It's now available as an 11-hour audio book, complete with sound effects, music and a cast of several. 10 bucks on Mixerman's website (less than iTunes or Amazon).

I haven't heard it yet, but intend to order a copy because Adventures is one of my all-time favorite books about recording. If you haven't read this book, or any of his others such as Zen and the Art of Mixing, I highly recommend it for your summer reading list. Imagine Ubiquitous Bubba writing about recording instead of aliens, that's Mixerman.

All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to.

    Thanks for the mention!

The characters in the book are performed by some of our most iconic engineers and producers. Ken Scott as Willy Show. Dave Pensado as the band manager, Shortypants. William Wittman as Lance. Ron Saint Germaine as Harmon Neenot, the vile bass player. Dylan Dresdow as Yore, Joe McGrath as Marc Ellis. And many more.

There's music, leitmotifs, sound FX, foley...it's like listening to a movie. You can check out the trailer here:

    Enjoy! #mixerman

I still haven't ordered it, because I have a strict personal policy of never entering a credit card number online. There have just been too many security breaches over the years. For me, it's PayPal or no sale. I know it costs money to offer PayPal as a payment alternative, and I have no way of knowing whether the math pencils out to make it worth your while, but please consider it.
