jb101 I procrastinated about adding my name to the letter, as I had not really communicated with Billy in my short time on this forum, but had read many of his posts, and identified with, and learned from, him. I felt disingenuous to join in. It was something BitFlipper shared that made me want to add my name. Your later post made me realise that I was right to. Thank you both. I wish you had been included. You have every right to be included. Its not your fault or mine its simply timing. It is that I am sorry for. No one of us is more entitled to be included than any one of us. The thought is the most important thing.

John, would you consider making a copy of the letter available to download, maybe as a Word doc or a PDF? Or maybe even posting it in its entirety in here? I for one would be proud to own a permanent copy of this wonderful forum gesture for Billy. And also, it might be nice to look back at some stage in the future and read through the list of all the good folk here who thought enough of him to want to have their names added. Just a thought.

It is at the top just remove the parts that are meant for explanation to the forum. Those are the ones before the salutation and below the closing and names. The letter is there. Any changes I did were posted back to the forum. It is up to date. If anyone wants their own copy in PDF format I can provide it via a PM to me with their email address. However its up at the top. I did not want the letter to be unseen while asking members to put their name to it.

John What has happened is the forum has come together over a single issue. One that the forum has shown extrema tolerance and care in its postings. That alone is to be treasured. It has happen for a sad reason but it can't be forgotten that it happened. Let us all remember Ba Midi for as long as this forum exists. Nicely put, John. And, thanks for taking the time to make this letter happen.

Thank you all for all the love and support! Billy and I grew close in the last 5 years and spoke often. This immediately was the red flag alerting me there was a problem. Billy loved Sonar, the forums and contributing. It was his passion, his drive! Admitedly, I was hit hard by his passing and really havent spoken publicly about this topic . Just know that this man was one of a kind, a true gentleman and I have greatly appreciated every moment I spent with my good friend Billy. He will be greatly missed and I think about him on a daily basis. Thank you John and everyone that brought attention to Billys passing. I am too looking further into what I can also do for the family and possibly gather more information. Thank you all for this kind gesture. Best Regards,

I've been away from the forum myself for several months, dealing with my own version of "musicians writer's block" and for the time being turning my efforts and interests to other aspects of my life. While still working through this "block" (I have this happen every several years and have to step away from music for long spans of time), I decided to check what was happening in the Cakewalk world and was saddened to see that Billy (BA Midi) had passed. We are fortunate that his wisdom and knowledge will live on in those who experienced it first hand here on our forums and from personal interactions with him. Knowledge shared is a lasting and welcome gift - Billy certainly exemplified this through his contributions. While I'm too late to sign the letter, I wanted to make a quick post to add my condolences. Jind (A.K.A Scott)

Without the support and cooperation of the entire forum I couldn't have done anything.
Probably true John but it most likely wouldn't have gotten done at all had you not taken the time and effort. You (and the others that went out of their way to see this through) should be very proud of this accomplishment...I know Billy's family will be proud and will most likely never forget how much Billy was appreciated by his friends and colleagues here in our little world (that is if 256 plus people is considered little)!
