"The BopCats" live in concert

I hope you enjoy these videos from a Benefit Concert featuring my band, “The BopCats” with special guest musicians, Rodney Justo (Atlanta Rhythm Section), and Paul Hornsby (Capricorn Records Producer)…  I spent several hours on the audio post-production…

This 2010 benefit concert raised over $40,000 for the ALS (Lew Gehrig's Disease) Association... we raised another $40 grand in 2011, when we opened for "The Atlanta Rhythm Section" and backed up "Billy Joe Royal"... I'm still working on the audio for that show...

This show featured a unique Songwriters Roundtable which included Hall of Famers, Buddy Buie, J.R. Cobb, Chips Moman, Bobby Emmons and Wayne Carson...
All of the songs we played that night were written by the above  songwriters…

I watched them all the other night.  Great sound.  You have some good vocalists too.  I love living in the boonies in the northwoods, but I would love to be where I could find old like-minded musicians to put together a stage act.

well, I don't know how "like-minded" we are, but we are "old"...

There is some bootleg footage on YouTube... please don't listen to those...

    Hey, Frank,

Absolutely spectacular videos, brother!  Great performances, and excellent job on the live mixes.

Right now, I only got to watch "The Letter" and "So Into You", and they were both absolutely top notch.  I always loved ARS, that's really cool that he actually sang the song originally, and you did a dynamite job on the solo.

I'll be checking out the others tomorrow night, fantastic stuff!

Thanks Bob... that's Dave Adkins playing the lead on "So Into You"... also, while its true Rodney Justo was the Original, and Current Vocalist for ARS, Ronnie Hammond sang on the original studio version of this song... sadly Ronnie passed a few years ago... Rodney sang on the first ARS album, and their latest...
Rodney also used to be the front man for "The Candymen", Roy Orbison's band in the 60's... and later sang with a band I was in in the 70's, "BeaverTeeth"

What a fine job of recording a live concert.  I used to play most of these songs myself in the day.  First class all the way.  I wish that I would have been there.

Spectacular band and performances Frank. The big wow for me in this is the production. Seems to me no small task with all the preparation involved setting up to record all of that live. Kind of a mixture of live and studio sound engineering. Great job indeed.
