The Brief Stay

This is a compo I made that leans in the classical direction...kind of a mood piece.

Dreamy, introspective and well constructed. Any story you can share behind the title you selected for the song?

    it's a nice composition,
but a bit dull for me... it never really builds, never arrives, it's just a continuing introspective.

not my cup of tea, but it is very soothing

rbecker- No real story behind it other than that it can mean a brief visit to a place of peace. I think this is what I intended to convey.

Bat-  I wouldn't have expected this to be your cup of tea after hearing what you do which you do well....IO appreciate you stopping by to listen. This is a total on the spot improv on piano with other parts added later. Improvs by thier very nature usually never sound like a VCVC kind of thing. So I totally agree and thanks!

Daryl- Thanks! meditation is exactly what my intentions were...not necessarily the .OHHHHMMMM kinda thing. I don't do yoga or anything like that. It is more intended as just a reflective thing for non yokites as well .

Different from your recent tunes...   Perhaps a bit more new-age-y than Celtic for me, but I like!   It does sort of meander about though I think that suits it well.    For an improv it's really well done.

Agreed with Steve it's a bit different from your other works. No less special though. Dreamy and floaty. lots of nice touches. I get the Celticness in it. I thought of 'Braveheart a gift of a thistle', that's just the link that my brain made.

Very delicate piece Tim. Nicely done. :)

Very nice textures and mood Tim.
I think at times, there is too much conflict between piano and flutes and even cello at times.
I don't know what to focus on when I am floating along with the piano and then the contra melodies come in.
Maybe they are mixed too hot? Or maybe in mixing, instruments that are featured should have more of the spotlight?

Anyway, I think you did a great job with the arrangement. I really love the piano melody.
