Outstanding production.  Evocative music to get the Gospel into ears that wouldn't normally hear it.  that break at 3:15 is super sweet.  Lot's of interesting places along the way through this soul lament and confession.

Sounds really good.  A couple of things that stuck out for me:  At 1:27 the vocals seem too dry and upfront - like they stick out.  Maybe a little verb or delay to wet them down slightly.  The kick seems a little lost.  It's almost too low in volume.  Cool song.

Very cool tune. Some parts remind me of early Tool. Few small nits. Vocals sound a tad too quiet in the verses and a tad too loud in the heavy parts. I get the dynamic feel you're going for but it's a little drastic on my setup. I agree about the kick, kinda lost, maybe more beater head slap, a little more definition in the bass/kick relationship. The full on loud areas seem pretty dang squashed, might be the cause of the 'guitar fatigue' someone mentioned. that's subjective though, some people love that sound. Mix feels really close to me though.

I would record another track of the rhythym guitar and use it with the existing one and pan them left and right instead of using the delay.   Agree with the comments about the vocals. 

Otherwise great song!  It sounds a bit like Something Like Silas

the loud guitar is subjective and my client absolutely wants that tone
and being upfront.   Since he's footin' the bill I just try to work around
it.

+1 on this. The trick with the vocal is getting that distant sound without having to strain the old ears.

No negs here.  As is this sits extremely well to my ears.

OTOH:
Macro-dynamics may be exagerrated (too wide) (rests and incremental pomp)  and micro-dynamics (ultra-compression of tracks) a bit narrow for some listeners.  Your client may need to advise on that though ... how much contrast preceding the metal cries, etc.

MHG has excellent dyanamic balances with his metal ballads, his advise might be solicited, IMHO ... since most of us aren't able to advise on so excellent a piece as this.

Awesome song and mixing my friend!  I see you thoroughly delight in producing haughty extremes of dynamics!
