That's amazing Ed... I didn't think you could retain that amount of quality at 128k...

What was used to master the project?

Actually very little was used to "master the project". I try to keep it simple.

In the final mix I had the LP64 Multiband and The Antress Modern Limiter (the older version).

That mix was exported to a 16-bit wav (probably should have been 24-bit?). I then used a fresh SONAR project file and simply applied the T-Racks Brick Wall Limiter tweaking the settings to get it as bold sounding as I could.

Really the production credit here goes to all of the CHB members for providing excellent stems to work with. It's truly a collaborative effort. No one seems to "knock out" a track, but rather their tracks "knock you out" IMHO.

I must give kudos to JB for his immense help on Grant's solo track.

Monster track, an absolute juggernaut. Everything I like about heavy rock is contained within, but most of all, it's fun. Bravo!

I was listening to Hall Of The Mountain Bing, and with that Intro i was too scared to turn it up at work, waiting for The Evil to jump in.
Didn't take long...

Great work!

Thank you Shad, 'That's entertainment' I guess...

Tony: Acid's bad m-kay, just listen to what the casualties sound like today...

Oaf: My man, I can't for the life of me understand why you aren't included in this line-up.

Scott: Grant really excels here I couldn't believe the Solo when I first heard it.

Janet: Thanks as always, yeah PRV always leaves me out of breath, the boys done good didn't they?

Grant: Looks like we ended up collabing after all, amazing solo man.

JB: Translation key not required. Ridiculously good they all are!

Michael: Great props, we're not worthy, thanks a bunch.

Mark: The little doggy still has his hat on but we all appreciate you taking yours off.

Bill: Thanks man, I hope the rashes clear up soon...

Wookiee:  Yeah, I agree the vox are too soft....I can say that this time 'cause I didn't mix it... I'll nag Ed.

Reece: Thanking you, yeah Strummy knows how to crunch fer sure.

James: Yo, punching someone? Nah, we don't need to incite a riot in here they occur naturally enough from time to time.

Jamie: Short 'n sweet.  Just like the choon, you think?

Jamzor:  Thank you back atcha.

Dave: Hey guys you listenin' I got a crazy awesome from Dave thanks we appreciate the encouragement.  Ed probably kept himself down in the mix because of his modesty.

James1213: Glad to see you back...really. Congrats to yourself and Larry on the CD release and thanks for the props.

Slug:  Yup Strummy's choice of intro works a treat, I bet they'd have all loved it at work blasting forth...

Thanks again all it is really appreciated by all of us, what is really nice is the fun aspect seem to be coming across with this and Asparapuss before, and the laughing is much better than the fighting I reckon.

Thanks Jonbouy, I plan to come back and give thanks to everyone involved soon as I get a handle on who did what....to be honest my universal translator is still off line and I'm still having difficulty understanding your species...I understand about 5% of what goes on in the CH....but it sure is great jammin' with y'all.

One thing I can say for sure...whoever did the singing on this is now my favorite metal vocalist....I don't normally like the growling in today’s metal but that voice is something different altogether. Salute!!!

Hey, Jon,

How are you, Buddy?  It sounds like you guys have been really putting in some time on this space-age masterpiece!

This is a progressive metal epic!  Outstanding job by everyone involved, from the driving drum track to Ed's punchy bass, Steve's fantastic power guitars, Grant's killer leads, the gritty vocals, the synth backing and fills, and the nice full mix.

I love the different transitions and "concept" feel that you acheived throughout the entire song.

Killer job, guys!  I must now go and "Bow Before Asparapuss"!

I loved the 1st minute (exceedingly) with the strong guitar pomp and all.  Very superb and powerful!

... (TBH) the rest is outside my tolerance scope.

Wow --- this is nothing but excellent!!!!!  Everyone connected with this really did a stellar job.  By the way the evil Bing is not associated with the evil creation Bing -- the search service of Mr. Bill Gates is it?  Just wondering?

Excellent gents! A lot of this reminds me of Trans Siberian Orchestra in spots. Phenom guitar tones and playing! And the saga continues.... everyone is locked in nice & tight. This would go great with an on-line light show too!!

Thanks to everyone for the comments about the solo, I haven't played Metal for about 8 years but as I recall, I made a deal with Steve in the Guitar Tracks forum here about a year ago that I would do a solo for an epic Metal song for him if he would do a Blues song with me and I agreed . I loved it when I first heard it....Steve's stuff always sounds like a fresh look at a style of Metal that was more from our day. I have to admit it really felt good to get that out!! Still not so sure about the credits so please except this.

Steve: Well brother, you really got it done!!! Sorry I let you down with the vocals for this.....but I'm sure glad it turned out the way it did....you certainly found the right man for that slot. I've always been in awe how you can bring our Metal back in such a fresh and stylish way with your awesome wall of Metal. So many sweet harmonies and pinch harmonics all in the right place here, it was an honor adding my steel to yours bro, we make a great team.

Drums: Amazing, you are the man, such energy you put into this kudos on the double kicks during the solo. Hope to jam with you again!!

Bass: Another amazing!!! It's a rare treat for me to play with a bassist like you that knows what to do for something like this, my favorite part of the song, except the vocals, is when you start doing your own thing.

Thanks and Kudos, without you guys that solo is just a catfight. So thanks to the driving force that made that so possible.

Synths: Again simply amazing!!! the tone was wonderfully creepy as were the melodies...sublime and masterful.

Vocals: Awesome, vocal development was amazing on this and that voice!!!

Production: When I heard the "That" mix I couldn't believe how much we sound like we're in the same room, awesome work!!!

Sorry if I forgot anyone.

Nothing short of.... VERY IMPRESSIVE GENTS!!!

I was listening and thinking Trans Siberian too.  Then suddenly the ending hit...out of the blue.... it suddenly seems way to short.

Just as it was taking a turn towards what promised to be a Bostonian style reprieve from the thundering madness of the merciless Bing's onslaught..... silence....!

Well done.

Bob: Thanks for the comments much appreciated by all of us.

Philip: You only lasted a minute? I can't tell you how many times I've listened through it....no wonder I've gone completely wacko...

Freddy:  Nice review, I think Bing is closer relations with Ming the Merciless but with a bad bout of flu than Mr Gates search engine although the megalomaniac tendency could be seen as similar...

Warren: Thank you very much.

Johannes: The tones of Greig indeed although Strummy did show him how to play the chords ya know.

Larry: Thanks on behalf of all of us.....an online lightshow.....hmmm now you got us thinking....

Tap: Thanks glad you like it.

Herb: Thanks man, another one for the TSO soundalike, but aren't they a bit pompous, overblown and OTT...yeah perhaps I can see the connection..  Actually I knew someone who played for them perhaps he still does...dang, that's another Xmas card I gotta write...lol

Thanks Rick for stopping by, yup the panto season has started early this year.

This is a love song right?

Kudos to all.  On my system it sounds like the bass could come up more.  It gets lost a bit in the mix.  There is also a high fizz that wears on the ears after a while.  Otherwise great mix.

That was good fun. There's a nice sense of humour in there that works well.

I can definitely hear the high fizz too. Some of the guitars could do with a bit of EQ scooping to help the separation a bit, especially during the 'song' section.

It must have been really difficult being the person who co-ordinated all the collaborators. Well done.

Epic, cool, fun, I don't know what else to add except I can't believe you did it on the internet.
I also listened to (Bow Before) Asparapuss; not as epic, but cool and fun, too.

Well, it took a while but I finally got to hear this.
I love it!
There's a lot going on here, yet everything is well separated and crisp. Nice job on the production, Ed.
I am particularly impressed with how tight the performance is. Seamless transitions as the themes change.
It all just fits.
Steve, could we get just a bit more attitude from your guitar?
Grant, rippin' solo. Love that tone. What are you using?
Jonbouy, my legs were burning just listening to that.
Killer synths and bass, and I think the vocals are sitting right where they should.
