Yep! Emotional! Yep! I thought the rap voice was a little loud, but nice chords in the song and the chorus sounded fine to me. Overall, probably okay, since those type of songs really are not my genre.

I actually like this on first listen. The mix sounds balanced on my speakers, and the thump thump comes through quite well. The melody and chords are pleasant enough as is the vocal. I'm not sure why the lyrics have to be so unnecessarily profane, but I guess it would have no street cred otherwise. Much potential here that could really take off with a little maturity.

Lynn - I'm sorry - you're absolutely right - I should have maybe given a warning. (not my lyrics) Fingers in the ears kids around 1.55 and 2.15. Thanks for the kind words though :)

I liked the Janis Ian tune better, but then I'm old. But this is well done and while rap is certainly not my thing, this is pretty good in way that I don't understand. The chorus is very melodic. Daryl

Not my cup of tea but I do like the chorus. I think the vox is too loud but not that much. I also think the mix needs better eq. It seems mid rangey. Well done!

Hey Daryl Not my norm listen but I'm liking the production/arrangement. Cool piano riff. It sounded like a classic 70's song intro. This piece had a nice flow with a great catchy hook. This is a tune that is today's radio friendly, if you could clean up some of the lyrics. I'm all about the mellow vocal delivery, not in your face. The mix wasn't bad. It also had an older character vibe. I'm diggin that vibe but, I'm with GUITARPIMA on the EQ. The highs on mostly the instruments like the snare/hats sound brittle. Warm her up a bit and you have a AWESOME piece that sounds modern and fresh. KUDOS GENTS! Kev

daryl1968 This is my first song posting. This is a colab between me and an artist who calls himself Drew Beats - a 17 year old rapper http://soundcloud.com/skyblueproductions/the-chase-drew-beats WARNING - bad language late in the song Daryl, The vox seem just a tad too loud, IMO. That guy can rap and sing. Very nice. I would like to hear more of the keys in the stark verses. Those are all just "preference" based opinions. Overall, great job.

I'll have to give that a listen if or when you post it , hey you guys should do something for those guys who do PARKOUR type stuff . They do some cool monkey like jumps and landings from buildings , watched some of that stuff on youtube a few weeks ago and its totally insanity but cool to watch ! Your music would fit right in with what they are doing , you have to have nerves of steel to make the jumps they make . Radio

Like how the piece moves here...the vocals might be a little loud but for the mix it seems good enough. He seems sure of himself here...the lyrics don't bother me so much.... Good song!!

Not really my fav type of music but it's certainly catchy. Did I hear a little bit of a reggae vibe going on around the 2 minute mark? I agree with Guitarpima it sounds a little middley (<--Is that a word?). Good song and I also thought the voice was great, more soulful than most I hear doing that sort of stuff. Karl

Hey Daryl, like a lot of the posters this isn't really my type of music but I found myself really liking it. Profanity aside (and let's face it, it's a "today" kinda thing, ain't it?) I think the young man has a cool style, a little fresher and not so "in your face" as most doing this genre. I would call it pleasant but I'm sure he'd be insulted, LOL. I too thought it could use a bit more warmth in the mix but again that's just me. Definately a great hook and chorus. I think it could be a hit, great work!
