The Crush

A local band asked me to do their T-Shirts for a gig this Saturday.

They gave me this artwork:

And I created this for them (which they approved):

Obviously it wasn't hard to do, just scary when you veer slightly off course.

And here is a final printed shirt. I did 47 of them in this first run.

That is a metallic silver, not grey. The green is a color he picked from a previous job which is a bit more yellow than the artwork.

I have to say....Ed did and outstanding job on this. Congratulate him on it. Ok?

Congratulate him on something else good that happened to him today as well. I'll let him tell you all what it is.

And no ...we are not getting married .... So don't congratulate him on that.

I know you like the truth.

The "lyrical" quality of the original seems like it was special.

I would strive to preserve it's charm by tracing and hand editing the vectors.

I'd charge them an extra fee to vectorize their logo and differentiate that from the screen art prep.

I'd give them a logo.eps and logo.ai in return for that fee.

That way they could have the hand hewn look and enjoy a consistent presentation in all of their communications.

It doesn't have to be a large fee and in the end it would provide a massive amount of value.

    Said with love and respect.

    From the android.

In fact he (the decision maker) said he thought the original was "too feminine" and he liked that I made it more manly.

It's funny about the tenor clef.

Because it was not pointed out to me (and I almost never think of a tenor clef) I just assumed that the top of the T was a "muscle man". ROTFLMFAO.

Thanks guys for pointing it out to me.

What's funny is that technically none of the symbols have been/are defined until correct orientation on the staff is included.
Until then....one could say it's not tenor, it's alto, baritone, soprano.....not to mention the other symbols/clefs.

And the bass clef is reversed. If it were correct orientation, the the band name would be some weird Nordic version of Drush.

Better set the Kemper to the 1962 Blonde Tolex with 2 D-130s Cali ballroom impulse. Don't forget the outboard reverb.
