Oh, you kids! Metal guitar is easy, there's an app for that. How about some heavy metal saxophone from the old school (before the word "metal" was even coined as a musical term)? (Caution: more than 3 chords!) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zBfCzhYbWBk I am sipping some home-made Starbucks as I listen to this...

I'm not a big metal fan but I did/do like Leviathan from Mastodon. I always liked The Henry Rollins Band too, he had a killer guitarist IMO. I like this too, I don't know if you would consider it metal.. it is rather unique. http://www.myspace.com/mo...c/songs?filter=POPULAR I like them all but especially good are Dust, Chaos is not Dead, and The Insect God... and this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uLqv8FufFk8 (one of their best) Now back to my coffee and pecan rolls...

Now that I've figured out how to use SD3 and X1 imma gonna start writing me some metal albums again. :-) and yeah I know drum synths are cheating but I don't have a kit anymore and would probably end up in the hospital if I attempted my old drum chicanery. Also I've been listening to And Justice for All obsessively for the past couple weeks. It was one of my fave albums as a kid. Still love it. Wish they hadn't buried the bass so much though. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gj2G8WaXa34

Right on, trimph1. Old scoolers unite! Rust in Peace was another favorite of mine as a young skid rocker. I learned about 90% of the rhythm guitar and as many Friedman leads as I could. Gave my playing that slippery style over the years. I can still do a pretty decent Lucretia. Here's the full album... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EOBZjUHTibw

It's been a while since I've chipped in here. But ever since I got an iPad a couple of weeks ago, I've been having my morning coffee with an episode of Metalocalypse. I've been through season 1 and 2, about to start the 3rd and I even discovered that season 4 is out on YouTube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CFcV7RU_Rm8 Metalocalypse, now that's HEAVY!!!
