The End Is Here!!!
The Post-Apocolyptic Nightmare known as my Diet has officially ended!!! Due to the fact that the author of the book that precipitated this travesty has been proven unequivocally to be a blithering idiot, the Diet of Death has been terminated! Over this last weekend, we reached a mutual conclusion that a more moderate approach was necessary. As a result, I'm limiting my caloric intake to a reasonable level, (eating some becan), having smaller meals more frequently, (still eating becan), and enjoying the freedom to include certain favorite foods within my daily limits (including becan). This has worked well this weekend and the deep, traumatic, psychological scars left by the last diet are slowly beginning to heal. As I celebrated my victory this morning, a thought ocurred to me. I've accepted a diet regimen. How did I come to this? Was I manipulated? Was that the plan all along? Yeah. That's what I feel like. Anyway, I still get my becan and cheese, so I can accept it.

I dreamed about the end of the world last nite. In color. Not scary but like a scifi movie. I woke up saying WOW!

that sounds like manipulation to me. you were brought to the point of thinking that even death would be better than what you're doing so anything between the vegan diet you were on and the "becan fest" would be a welcome improvement. deprivation makes one willing to compromise just about anything. especially when you are suddenly allowed becan again!

Is it wrong that I realize this, and yet I'm still happy to have my becan back?

Congrats on surviving the ordeal. Remember, she was was trying to keep you around a little longer, so don't be too hard on her and appreciate the more moderate approach. Good luck on the new regimen. All hail Becan!!!

She's a crafty one, she is. I didn't expect this. No one expected this. Her main weapon is Craftiness. Craftiness and Wileyness. Wait, that's two. Her two main weapons are Craftiness, Wileyness, and Cleverness. I'll come in again.

musicman100 you know, Atkins lets you eat MEAT and CHEESE LOTS OF IT and BUTTER of course, you can die from coronary disease on that diet... The author/creator may not have died from his own diet. Read about it here I had lost 40lbs on the Atkins diet in 2003. I managed to keep it off for three years. I've gained 30 of it back from poor eating habits. After losing the 40lbs my doctor was amazed and asked how I did it (as well as lowering my bad cholesterol and raising the good, all the while maintaining my blood sugar to a very normal level; I'm a type II diet controlled diabetic). When I told him it was the Atkins diet he said he's seen that type of success many times. He said he did not believe it should work yet the empirical evidence (to him) says it works. I think I've just talked myself back into the diet.

I think I've just talked myself back into the diet. And if you guys remember, back in November I started a diet that was very similar to Atkins (but probably closer to South Beach, but SB & Atkins are pretty similar). I lost 60 pounds on the diet, dropped my cholestorol to normal, dropped my blood pressure to normal. I've not been "dieting" for a couple of months now, and the last couple of weeks I've been creeping back up a little so that I've hit my "threshold" that my wife and I set up so that the "nag" alarm starts sounding until i get my weight back under the threshold. so today I started back on the diet again and I hope to finish back to my secondary goal of getting below 200. I've got about 30 pounds to get there. but I'm certain this diet is healthy enough to get me there.

The title of this thread scared me.....I thought oh no, Bubba's becanless diet has pushed him over the edge and now he's joined forces with Harold_Camping with an updated prediction. If The End was here, I had mixed feelings as I was ready to jump on that Becan Wagon and saying to hell with the vegitarian/slow death/gout diet....Becan for EVERYONE!! Thank goodness it's only a lift off from that hideous diet and not really.... THE END.

I had a dream that Bubba looked like an Orc and I was hoping for the end of the world. Just trying to fulfill my obligation to offend.
