I liked your first post better, Bill.
Yes, there is a regular bunch here, but that's true of all the forums. Many of us were here when the paint was still wet. Before the Coffee House, we just conducted OT discussions in the other forums.
The other forums are for getting questions answered and getting stuff done.
The Coffee House is for kicking back, and sharing some general fellowship. Yes, we get silly, but there is also some really cool stuff that gets shared here.
Spacey's guitar builds, Steve's photographic excursions, and Bubba's musings come to mind.
We kick around a lot of random thoughts here.
And the Coffee house is probably the tightest community of people who have never met that I have ever seen.
When I was in trouble, you guys had my back, and I've seen it many other times.
Heck, Rain doesn't even use Sonar, but here, he is welcome and we have a lot of common ground.
The Coffee House is a gift, and I hope Cakewalk realizes just how precious it really is to us.

I think you're all missing something. The announcement is originating from THIS forum, and being linked to from the other forums. Seems unlikely that means this is on the chopping block, but even if it is, the announcement is asking for feedback. It's not an ultimatum.

Sure enough, if I click on this in the other forums it does show the Coffee House in the path.
Still, as noted above, it's not on the list.

Much as I love/loath this forum all at the same time there has to be a place to move posts that are irrelevant to the other forums so I doubt it's gonna go.

And this place should be called 'Cake Hole' IMHO :) Slang for 'mouth'.

Yes, but I think it's probably a good idea to find out if it was an oversight before hitting the panic button. I mean, don't you find it at least somewhat unusual that they came HERE to launch the discussion if they wanted to marginalize this place?

I often get documents for a second set of eyes, like newsletter promos and such. I don't think I'm telling tales out of school that there have been a few times I've said something like "Don't you think you should maybe include the dates of the sale?"

We care a lot about our little place, and we are concerned.

Don't be. They're asking for feedback, and from within the Coffee House. Unilaterally deciding that asking for feedback is "The End" seems kinda premature.

It is indeed odd that it came from here. I think this is the first time I have seen a forum change announced this way.
The irony is that most of the responses have expressed concern about the Coffee House.
I hope you're right, and it was just an oversight.
In the meantime, I've got this cool torch and pitchfork set that I got on ebay, and I'm just dying to storm a tower.

Whatever you do, please don't tell us we aren't allowed to be paranoid anymore.

to whom it may concern , = ( high  sarcasm alert )

sure , it's real nice to come here once and a while for grins , giggles and to have a little fun  ...
but the name Cake Hole happens to rub me the wrong way …,

if you want to change the name of this section of this forum don't you think it may be a great idea to become a regular contributing member of this section of the forum first

or even better ….Let us decide for ourselfs if we want to change the name of the Coffee House
sure , some of us may act under age and come off emotionally immature  I'm sure if it came down to it we could lay all our bacon on the table and conduct ourselves in a rational manner …
it is very possible that if we could harness the collective power of all our working brain cells , we may be able to take a poll or put something to a vote to see if we want to keep the name Coffee House or not  ...

it is my opinion that one of the true blessings of this section "The Coffee House " is that many of us here have honed our sense of insanity and irrational humor to the  sharpness of a finely tuned hand made Old World Japanese Katana ….

to the sceptic , why don't you take a good hard look at who's posting down here if you don't believe me …

none of the guys down here are bean counters  in fact , if you happen to take an inventory of the assorted creative nuts and misalligned bolts that start threads and post regularly down here you might notice that many of the regulars that hang out here are " the people " that are writing ALL THE SONGS and making all the NOISE with some pretty Hip Music

Yeah, rubbed me wrong too but it does seem common for those that run their mouth the most often that never contribute any of their attempts at creating anything other than noise or opinions...so I've gotten use to it and not surprised. It's common so I'm sure not pointing a finger - just an observation and one that was determined a long time ago.
