There have been a few posts about it. It's very clever, but I am not sure about the ergonomics.

it says there are several ways of positioning the device. On is to face it so that the physical desk becomes a multi-touch surface. If this plays out it may be possible to use it as a controller for the CV might be really cool.

It's interesting to give another plane (depth) in addition to X and Y. Cakewalk could make it so that you could fine tune a parameter by moving your fingers in and out. The results of the depth measurement are shown when they rotate the 2D image in the video to show it is actually a 3D image. I'm not using my touch screen as much as I thought I would. I've thought it would be cool if we could rotate windows so they are upside down. Then people on either side of the touch screen could use it to change parameters (like Synth params for one and Amp Sim params for another).
StudioCat > I use Windows 10 and Sonar Platinum. I have a touch screen. I make some videos. This one shows how to do a physical loopback on the RME UCX to get many more equalizer nodes.

I'd prefer voice activated commands myself. My shoulders and neck would thank me.

I'd prefer one giant, life-sized console that could expand across multiple monitors, and you could use a three-finger salute touch to swipe it around, much like moving your chair on an old 72-channel Neve. The idea there is waiting to be realized. Would you flip out if you saw a full-scale console made up of six or eight 30" touch monitors? I would. That would blow my mind! It could be done, and the technology is already here! Cakewalk just needs to zoom in a little and up-res Skylight. If you only had one monitor, just scroll around on it. You could have all your ProChannels expanded, too! KILLER!! I want to see this!

I must say, all this touch screen stuff does nothing for me, dirty monitors and not tactile feedback. Well I guess that Leap would solve the dirty monitor issue, but I thinkg I'll stick with my Mackie MCU. Did LOOK rather cool tho, very "minority report"

Something like this - if it could be made to work at a distance - would be amazing for something where you only need to perform occasional actions. I'm thinking instead of a remote for TV on Demand or something like that. For protracted periods of precise work, it looks horrible.

John T Brconflict: have you seen this? For my money, I think it's very impressive, but I'd still rather have a real console. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4HHiXqcyu2M Yeah, seen it. It's impressive, but I think he missed the boat on how big the console could have been. His smartest thing, though, is making the graphics large enough for fingertips. Skylight is the antithesis of fingertips. Needs some zoom-ability (although not the sometimes chaotic zoom Sonar has today).
