Why *on earth* is this classified as world music?  You definitely like rhythm.

Haha  oh yes I sure do ! That was just because a few non-kick,snare&toms percussion instruments were thrown in along with some world wind tones...
Hey by the way, who said world music couldn't be rhythmic

I like it - I think what you have going for the rhythms is really exceptional. Plus they sound like very high quality samples/sources.

So while the rhythm beds are for me excellent, I think the patches of violin and flutey things for the leads are not measuring up so much. The lead instruments sound artificial in comparison. I don't know what you could do about that . . .  maybe Gypsy the violin from East/West would be worth looking at. ? Or maybe a little more reverb on the violin you have.

That's a pretty subjective criticism and others will likely love your lead patches, so your .02 kroners will vary. The background rhythms are a definite treat!

Very cool rhythm and bass groove. If it were me, I might spread the percussion out of the middle a little bit. As far as Tom's point goes, you can always go the other way and use full on synth sounds instead.

Tom and Dan, thanks for your constructive feedback and suggestions. I am still working on and trying to devote more time to mixing and sound selection. The lead patches in this one, (if I remember right), were a few taken from Dim Pro and some other synths within Sonar. I am trying to work more on my compositions and bettering my Sonar skills before putting more money onto heavy sampled instruments like East-West and others. But yeah, I know what you mean in terms of the quality of sampled sounds of organic instruments. Hopefully some day I'll be able to budget for those.

Very cool. Love the Indian fills.
My only criticism is that the lead lines seem a bit random. It would be good to have a central lead theme.

    Hi Ramesh,

I am listening to The Journey as I type...

A nice piece of work... Most enjoyable... Liking the selection of sounds you are using. I'm not sure if it is my earbuds I am using at the moment but some of the string parts sound a bit high in the mix. I need to listen again when I get to my proper workstation where I have my headphones.

    cheers
