The Party's Over (Journey Cover) featuring GuitarTrek on Vocals

Cover of Journey's 1981 song the Party's Over featuring Geno (GuitarTrek) on Lead and backing vocals.

Have been tweaking this for awhile and decided to post it and get some comments.   Not 100% happy with the opening guitar riff sound and a couple other things but would appreciate any feedback on the mix.  Thx.

Attempting to sing a Steve Perry vocal is pretty ambitious, but Geno did a great job with this. The only real thing that popped out to me was that the drums were pretty locked in. For 99% of the song, that's fine, but during the opening and guitar solo, I think things should be a little (just a little) looser.

Mix is pretty good, and the instrumentation, I thought, pretty well sounded like what I remember.

Overall, you guys did a great job on this.

Thanks for the feedback Dan.  I am going to loosen up the drums and make a few more tweaks on the mix.

... I just compared it with the original version on YouTube. Sounds pretty close!

Yup...  covering Journey aint easy, but I think you did a really good job with this one.   Geno's vocals sound freakin' great.   I think that overall the guitar sounds good too, but maybe just a bit more edge in the intro?

    Gents,

Thanks for the listen and comments.   Have "loosened up" the drums and fixed a couple other problems including the intro guitar.   Will post out another version soon..   Appreciate all the suggestions.  Thx.
