I believe the soundsystem somehow failed at some points. Stevie Wonders performance was delayed and that improvised singalong by the aussie actor was obviously a emergency patch. And when Stevie started, the sound was lousy.

Also, when the big ensemble performed "Sing" the adult solo singing ladies seemed to have so big difficulties holding the pitch (and their voice came out really poorly) that I wonder if they heard their monitoring at all.

I think you might be on the right lines there Kalle.

Quite a few of the acts didn't seem to be able to sing in tune. Of course, that's assuming they can in the first place though

Pfft... watching the jubilee concert last night, I couldn't believe the arrogance of some of the celebrities.

Stevie Wonder for example - fancy wearing sunglasses at night just to look cool.

I didn't really pay much attention while it was on, but I've been catching up with some bits. I have to say, it's easy to take the **** out of Cliff, but if I can move like that when I'm 72, I'll be happy.

The show was well put together and positive athmosphere really poured on the floor from TV.

The other ws desperately plugging her ear with forefinger.

The light show during Madness'  performance was really something to see.

McCartneys voice can't strectch anymore, pitty. I couldn't believe what I saw and heard when Cliff Richard got on the stage :o) Quite respectable, I must say.

Grace Jones got me on good mood (eat your heart out Mick Jagger and Iggy Pop, that was quite a sport achivement) so did Kylie, but the cherry on the cake were the hosts!! They were absolutely great. You brits really have a tradition in twisting
the stiff or loose lips.

On the rock side the really good, inspiring perfomance/performer never occurred, but as an event - marvellous.

Pretty spot on there Kalle.

I think the sound was futzed at the TV feed.  The crowd seemed to enjoy the Stevie Wonder performance so I'm assuming the sound was just abysmal at our end.

All the while there was a house band performing the sound was OK it was only after they started changing the stage around for the 'bigger' acts that it all seemed to go awry.

Robbie Williams opening along with the massed bands was excellent, Jessie J was sharp although I thought she could have done something more singalong for the occasion, Grace Jones made me feel unwell, I thought Cliff was appalling, Shirley Bassey as durable as ever and Tom Jones was stellar, the rest though was marred by the technical difficulties.  It must have been good fun being there though which is what it was mainly about.  A good knees up!!!...

Alfie Boe channeling Elvis on 'It's now or never' was the highlight for me I think..

I'm pretty sure he thought about it, but he didn't have a belly full of wine....

I don't think she'd have had much to say though.

Here on the Millennium Falcon we intercepted a feed from a Sky satellite and caught the BBC HD channel, the sound was presented in Dolby Digital, which we all thought was quite ambitious for a live open air concert.

True it was crap in places and there were some obvious technical difficulties.  However those there seemed to be enjoying the moment and thats what it is all about.

Typically British though it appears that they do like to have a good moan when ever the opportunity arises.
