The Queen's Diamond Jubilee gig...

Is it a reminder that we haven't produced any new talent for the last 40 years?

I'm wondering,

Tom Jones, Paul McCartney, Elton John....ddn't we do this gig in the '80's?

It's hardly the most inspiring line up, but I guess at the end of the day it is a concert for an old lady.

    What?  No Adele?

They should have consulted with the Queen's grandkids on this line-up.

    They didn't invite Keith Moon?

Ah, but I have Becan, too....................  ;)

But the truth of it is that I actually prefer dogs to diamonds.  Maybe it's because I wear men's deodorant.  Axe makes one that smells like chocolate. I don't know why they don't start marketing that to women.....

The show was well put together and positive athmosphere really poured on the floor from TV.

I believe the soundsystem somehow failed at some points. Stevie Wonders performance was delayed and that improvised singalong by the aussie actor was obviously a emergency patch. And when Stevie started, the sound was lousy.

Also, when the big ensemble performed "Sing" the adult solo singing ladies seemed to have so big difficulties holding the pitch (and their voice came out really poorly) that I wonder if they heard their monitoring at all. The other ws desperately plugging her ear with forefinger.

The light show during Madness'  performance was really something to see.

McCartneys voice can't strectch anymore, pitty. I couldn't believe what I saw and heard when Cliff Richard got on the stage :o) Quite respectable, I must say.

Grace Jones got me on good mood (eat your heart out Mick Jagger and Iggy Pop, that was quite a sport achivement) so did Kylie, but the cherry on the cake were the hosts!! They were absolutely great. You brits really have a tradition in twisting
    the stiff or loose lips.

On the rock side the really good, inspiring perfomance/performer never occurred, but as an event - marvellous.

SONAR PE 8.5.3, Asus P5B, 2,4 Ghz Dual Core, 4 Gb RAM, GF 7300, EMU 1820, Bluetube Pre  -  Kontakt4, Ozone, Addictive Drums, PSP Mixpack2, Melda Creative Pack, Melodyne Plugin etc.
The benefit of being a middle aged amateur is the low number of years of frustration ahead of you.
