Wow, thanks for posting. That's made my decision much clearer.

I'll be sticking with Sonar.

yes, it has the talent button, that's why kamikazee uses it.  BTW Kamanazi, you don't know what you're missing.  Cubase is so much more stable, it integrates vsts much better, and it's overall more intuitive than Sonar.  Come to the light.  They all have mostly the same features.  It's a question of klutzy sonar or elegant cubase.

I don't care what DAW it's done with - how about actually finishing something?

I've always wondered if there's a way on sound cloud to only have my music play after people click on one of my songs.  It annoys me too.  I think those songs that follow are some sort of promotional thing.

This is a nice modern classical piece certainly has a nice mood with it, looking forward to hearing the finished version along with the other four movements, what's that, it's not a symphony.......ah shucks!!!!!

I used to be a sonar fan boy.  Just too many frustrations.  Cubase worked (beautifully) right out of the box.  No errors, freezing or vst nonsense.  Steinberg invented the vst didn't they?  I don't know if that has anything to do with it.  I feel you should know all the DAWS!  (isn't da what the irish call their fathers?)

If I wanted to be dramatic I could have said:  Why Cubase?  one word, dorico.  It works fabulously.

I have tried other Daws but they always felt difficult to use. I use the X1 and I really find it easy to use and I bet the newest version feels even better

Just seems a little out of place posting a tune recorded in Cubase on the Sonar forum while dissing Sonar. Sort of biting the hand that feeds......

David - there's no "requirement" that what you post here be recorded in Sonar, but this is a Cakewalk forum, so let's cut back on the Sonar bashing.  it will only cause trouble.

I wrote to cakewalk HQ saying I wanted to get my money back because of the behaviour of sonar, and the way gays get treated on their forum. Two issues neither for which they've lifted a finger .  luckily for their gay workers there are laws in place in Cambridge that protect them. As to sonars continuing problems I say goodbye. Adios and good luck!

Ignoring all the back and forth on the Cubase/Sonar thing, this piece has some potential I think.  There is some interesting melodic movement particularly towards the middle and end.  Personally I would recommend revisiting whatever instrument(s) is being used in the opening as the attack feels way too abrupt to me.

thanks for listening and commenting philz.  I rendered this based on what I've heard at my church lately.  I didn't realize how modal the anglican liturgy has become.  Lot's of fifths and fourths (quartal?)
