Hey Jesse,
It feels to me that you're forcing your voice. I'm thinking if you started working out and lots of sit ups. cuz... :)
Singers use there full torso and lungs to control pitch. You need to put some strength into your singing.
You really could use a vocal coach to help you define your weak points and enhance the good!
The song itself is good, I liked the guitar parts as well "where I could hear them" cutting through the mix.
Nice job!!!
You just needs some vocal help. :) Sit ups.... lots of sit ups....
