The Summoning

Here's something done a few years ago. https://hearthis.at/kuusniemi/tapsa-kuusniemi-the-summoning/

A short little piece in a somewhat horrorish style. Tested out a few new instruments (mainly AMS Brass from Strezov Sampling).

Very nice.  It seems like you have much talent.  This would make a nice music bed for a movie trailer.  I wish I could do something like this.  Nice, it is short, it is like a flight at the local tasting room.

Thanks, but I genuily feel I'm not that talented. Mostly hard work, too high flying goals, trial and error plus a whoooole lot of whipping ones own arse. I've had the fortune of being able to work with really talented people and boy am I out of my league with them... :)

If memory serves me correct there is only a glockenspiel playing there.

Tapsa,

Very nice piece. Truth be told, some years back, I heard one of your pieces as a demo for a sample library (can't remember which one, sorry) and it really inspired me to up my game. The most important things I've learned is a) know your libraries, b) never get in a hurry.

Regards,
Dan

Nice to hear that Dan. Never thought I'd inspire others. :)

This actually was made as demo for Wavesfactory's Glockenspiel.

What I've learned in the years I've made music is start with a simple clear idea and see where it takes you. That way you come up with a lot more than you originally intended to create.

Don't put yourself down so much!  I agree that this is a nice start to movie/film score material.  I'm sure that if you can do this much, you could develop it further if the opportunity ever presents itself.

Don't misunderstand me, I definately do not put myself down! :) I believe that working hard is ultimately a bigger thing than raw talent. :) I have been presented opportunities and as result of that I am a professional sound designer. :) So no worries about putting myself down. :)

My point is that all the technical etc stuff in my music is result of hard work and learning not talent. What I have talent for is coming up with ideas. :)

I really liked your piece, but it's not a genre I can relate to.  I imagined myself at Disney walking around one of their parks.  It's so pure and crystal clear.  You play with the listeners expectations in a very advanced way.

Great sound quality, I didn't find it creepy, just interesting. Obviously cinematic.

Perhaps hearthis.at hosts things at greater file resolution? It sounded cinema-ready, if that's a term.

keep up the posts, a great listen.
