The Sunday Report: Stylus RMX follys and other fun stuff...

Hello chillun.  Time once again for the Sunday Report.  And we're off to a bang up start.  Or stop, I should say.  Today's project called for a new instance of Stylus RMX.  Instantiated it and started to peruse some Steve Gadd loops to use as the basis for a latin tinged tune.  Picked an intro and a couple of beat patterns and drug them over as per usual.  Only the drag and drop won't work properly.  What happens is that all of the drug in Stylus loops play what ever THE LAST loop drug in is.  In other words you cannot build a track of varying loops.  Whatever the last loop you drag in...that's your only pattern.  Thought it might be the Gadd package so I tried the same thing with Stylus' Core Library.  Same thing.  Thought then it must be Stylus itself.  Went and checked and found there was an update to all my Spectrasonics stuff (Omni, Trilian, RMX) that I had not as yet downloaded.  So I got em all and updated all.  Still no love.  Pretty sure now it's ol X1.  Dern it's ever lovin hide.  I'm on X1b build 245 and don't know how long Stylus has been broken like this because I've mostly been working the last month or so on already produced out projects and/or have not needed to build a Stylus track using loops.  If this is already a well known issue let me know and I'll pipe down and simply fume in silence.  If not...look our for it, will ya?  Guess I'll be workin on somethin else this afternoon.  And when somethin else pops up...and you know it will...I'll be back with another edition of "The Sunday Report".  Stay tuned.

I use Stylus RMX in most of my music and can assure you it works 100% in X1b 246.
There is a bit of a trick to dragging the MIDI clips into the correct destination track, but otherwise it
behaves like an exemplary vst.

I took some time to set up an RMX template, with individual RMX outputs and 8 MIDI channels, which saved me loads of time with each new project start.

Nope.  Build 246 made no difference at all.  Still cannot drag different loops into the Track View.  All loops play the pattern that was the last one dragged in.

Nope, Sunday's my most PRODUCTIVE day!!!  Can't you tell.

Latest is that I can get Stylus to play diferent loops if I use "groove menu" mode.  Which I've never had to do in the past and doesn't help, really, at all as you cannot "tweak the beats" in Sonar in that mode.  This is really kooky.  What else is new?

Well, it was worth a try and probably didn't hurt anything.  Plus I've found a workaround.  It's a bit cumbersome but I got er goin.  I have to use multiple midi tracks on different channels  OR  just accept "groove menu" mode.  I swear I used to be able to just drag and drop different loops to the same track on the same midi channel in slice mode and have it work properly.
