djwayne Wow, getting this CA-2A Limiter made my week !! I tried it out on a couple test recordings I have and they sounded great !!! Thanks a lot Cakewalk !!!!!!!! This weekend has been awesome. First, Waves sent me a notice that their Aphex Aural Exciter was on sale, knocked down from $299 to $89...I was just looking for an exciter the other day, so I grabbed it. Then I get the notice from Cakewalk for the free CA-2A....regular price about $99 bucks....so bottom line is I scored $400 worth of plugins for $89 bucks !!!!! These two plugins will make a permanent improvement to my mixes !!! I'm stoked !!!!

Geez, I use the Free CW Exciter, It's truly Bad Booty! :) Peace! :)
I'm glad you like it. I'm just getting back into using exciters, and I wanted the Aphex one, because it emulated the original tube exciter. Years ago, they were only available for rental by the minute.... !!!! I haven't done an A/B test between the two, so I can't say which one I like better, but I do really like the Aphex. When I saw the sale price of $89 down from the $299 regular price, it became a no brainer for me.

Wave's has great sales and I hear you on getting a tube exciter plug :) Seems like I have too may plugins now and CW keeps expanding the PhoCh... I think my head explodes once a month now... the exciter has been my favorite plug... I love the sand... Think I should at least look at the Aphex. peace!

I just did an A/B test between the CW Exciter vrs the Aphex Exciter...I paired them both with the CA-2A. My favorite is the Aphex with the CA-2A. I did well by buying it while it was on sale, now it's listed for $299 again. I have a long history with Aphex. I dj'ed for 2 years, and had an Aphex Aural Exciter with Big Bottom in my dj rig. I A/B 'ed it many times and always chose the Aphex over no effect. My dj rig sounded fabulous and I played to a packed house for two year. Got lot's of compliments on the sound quality. It never failed me, not even once, it always sounded great on all my music. So when I saw the Vintage Aphex Aural Exciter plug-in on sale I jumped on it.

I had the same problem and it was a "pop up blocker" setting in Firefox or Explorer. (Can't remember which one I used.)

Well, I used whatever internet Explorer is now called and the download button worked. I reinstalled the Command Center, but the CA2A is not there. I am either going to pound my head against the wall, or drink a couple shots of gin.

In the Command Center, you should see a row of colored buttons on the right hand side. Look for the red one, should be the top button. Click on that and the CA-2a should pop up. Then hit the install button. On a side note, go to Musician's Friend and search for the LA-2A, that's the original hardware model. You'll see the price is $3,499. If you search for the CA-2A You'll see it's $99. The two models look almost identical. I'm sure the more expensive one sounds great, but $3,499 is way out of my budget, and would never happen for me. Thanks again Cakewalk !!!!!

Of course, thank you! I noticed though it is not double precision (64-bit floating point processing). Not that it would be a reason for dissatisfaction, but is it only my install, or everyone noticed it?

When you download CA-2A, you have to supply an email address; it has to be the same one you use to login to Cakewalk. I used a different email address first time and Command Centre didn't find it. Hope that helps?

It looks like a sweet plugin! I'll wait until it's on sale for $29.00. ;) I was able to match other combos of plugs to reach the same sonic effect. I had left my Wave usb drive and my iLok down stairs and was just using whatever was handy so... Alloy2 has a 3 ban exciter that's cool. Another surprise was that the VX-64 (crystal cave) then tweak, was nice as well for what I like about exciters. The Aphex to me seems to be able to replace a few steps with one unit. I also ran the CW CA-2A and the IK White 2A with the exciter chain... I still like the IK 2A... but I was able to match it with the CW version with other combos of plugs as well just using the ProCh. I guess my point is that we all don't need all the plugs on earth to reach the sonic plan... :) Ahh.... I love when I have time to just play with plugins...

Humour me please with the information whether you also have the CA-2A freebie working in single precision (i.e. not double precission, i.e. not 64 bit processing). You can see this in the FX bin. Plug ins that work in 64 bit procesing display doubled ticks. For stereo plug-ins in 64 bit you would see 2 groups of 2 ticks. Hence 4 ticks. Under CA-2A I only see 2 ticks in stereo. See here: https://www.cakewalk.com/...mp;help=Mixing.26.html
