Brilliant lyrics, worthy of Tom Waits. Love this song.

That is very, very very, very good!!  Sort of felt like I was stumbling down Bourbon St after reading Tennessee Williams and Sarte.  And that's a good thing.

Hi Yorolpal, because you've been kind to me in the past, and because you've been forgiving toward my rants lol...I thought I'd better have a listen.

Beautiful mix, not a jazz fan...but I can't complain about the soulful sounds.  Vocals remind me of Leonard Cohen, and Songs of Love and Hate.  Also a little Adrian Belew on King Crimson's The Construcktion of Light.

Nice :)

Just remember Ben, ol pal...you never have to be kind to me (or anyone else for that matter) when critiquing their work. Say what you will and let the chips fall where they may. Screw us if we can't take it.

Love your stuff.

I like the out-in-front vocals. I might dial the bass down a tad in the mix, and I also wonder, does your piano contain many notes down there where the bass is playing? If so, you might nip a few bass piano notes out of there occassionally, so the bass is a little clearer. Just my .02 pesos. It's really pretty good the way it is.

You went for a instrumental sax solo right after the first verse. At that point, I kind of wanted to hear more lyrics, so I could get into the creepy vibe that was being created - then solo it up.

Original, fairly brilliant, very creative, and kudos for not being a cookie-cutter songwriter.

cheers,
-Tom

Hey ol pal,

If this is what you create when you drink gin, then I say drink more gin.

I have to say though, I started singing to this song, and I did it in a Chet Baker style, it sounded good too.

I may actually resing it in a different voice. I think this one is a bit too strident. But thanks!

Hey that was nice , Good story telling and I dig the muted trumpet ..
Is there any significance to the laugh at exactly 4:20 in the tune ? or was that a happy stroke of events ..lol
Yeah , this sort of reminds me of DR John ..I have rapped w him a few times ,  your singing voice sound a lot like his speaking voice ...
I do like the vibe of the tune itself , it is a nice cross between a 60's type of Cool Jazz mixed in with a more modern style of songwriting ...
good job , if you ever need or want a guitar for anything along these lines let me know .

all the best ,

Oh yeah...    I think the phrase "oozing vibe" is appropriate for this one.    A small, smokey club in the French Quarter would be a great visual match-up, going along with Kenny's Dr John comparison.

Bye bye...

You definitely have a thing there. :) I love your songs and I love the sounds you make, all of them have this sweet depth to them that I despair of ever finding in my mixes. Great lyrics, great song, what else to say?
